Loved my girls trip to Riu Reggae. The resort itself is beautiful, with the beach and pools a few steps away from your room. Rooms were cleaned daily and hotel staff were very friendly, except for one lady at the Asian restaurant. The foodcould have been better, the drinks weren't strong enough and most of the outlets in the room weren't working. Other than that, Iabsolutely loved every minute of this trip.

This would be my fourth time on the island very familiar with different riu resorts. This was my first time in Montego Bay. Riu Reggae was a very small resort that brings a party crowd of your looking for rave music and ratchet individuals come here. The staff was nice here compared to other resorts but every time I had a real concern they brushed it off. Especially the people working in the front desk! Our server Exxon was a delight we loved him the only one who took our concerns seriously! But save yourself the headache and go else where Ocho Rios orNegril

First I would say this hotel is extremely, EXTREMELY clean! That is so important especially with COVID going on. Also my room was hands down one of the best on the resort. If I ever stayed here again it would have to be in my room. Ocean facing balcony but if I walked to the end of my balcony, I was overlooking the entire resort scene. Absolutely amazing views! There were some issues that have made me decide I probably wont stay here again.1. Mini-Bar in the rooms are CLOSED.The alcohol was taken out of the room for COVID reasons ( I would think people drinking in their rooms would be more sanitary than going to the bar) but also, no water, juice, anything in the room. You have to go downstairs and ask the front desk for a bottle of water. Even buying your own, you cant place it in the refridge as they turned them all OFF. So I hope you enjoy warm beverages.2. During the hours between breakfast/lunch/dinner, the restaurants are CLOSED. Even the jerk chicken shack/stand. You can get these tiny sandwiches with really hard bread to eat but that is IT. I checked in at 3 and starved until 6:30 when the restaurants opened. The ham and cheese sandwich was terrible.3. The cook for the buffet is obviously different from day to day. Friday night, the jerk chicken was amazing, Saturday it was "ok", Sunday it wa downright terrible. I could not get past 2 bites.4. I would advise anyone looking for excursions to NOT ask the attendant at the front desk. One attendant sent me to some shady guy who was just standing around and tried to get me to pay 500 for a trip without even paying for the excursion (literally just the ride portion). Absolutely NOT.5. The phones in the room do NOT work. I could not call down to the front desk or even to my friends room.Other than that, it was a good place. I loved my room more than anything.

Beware....Upon booking trip we checked all reviews. Reviews show that that resort is nice, food is good, lots of entertainment. Now for the real review from a Caribbean American traveler. I have been many places and this is a place you don’t have to worry about me going back to visit. See following reviews:Pros1. Excellent music (when there is music because it’s only played at certain times of the day.2. Bartender & waitress Tia is amazing.3. Some of the very few entertainment shows were cool.Cons1. Food is awful (outside the bad food many of the items were pre-made. Therefore nothing was fresh. You want a hamburger, hot dog to eat they grab a pre-made one and warm it up in microwave and that’s all that’s available when everything is closed for the day.2. The restaurants give very small portions and all of them were not open. U only have a choice of one restaurant per night (Chinese, Italian, steak house). Because only one was open per night and seating is very limited.3. The alcohol was very watered down. Many visitors went off the resort to purchase their own.4. The rooms were small.5. There was no room service6. Times for cleaning room were very random and sometimes your room may not get cleaned.7. Yes the music is very loud at night (but that’s not something that bothers us. We brought ear plugs).8. The boat ride we purchase at the resort was cool. However the guy who sold us the tickets was very pushy and lied about the destinations. We were told we were going to other side of island and he was right is was the side of the island down the street next to airport for snorkeling. We also were told we would be taken to another destination with restaurants and places to shot. We were taken to a hut that had a small bar and you could do jet skies. Luckily we had a good captain and good music.In summary although I have been many places I don’t expect much. However this was a disappointment. Many working at the resort stated it was better pre-COVID. That could have been the case but not now. So if your looking for cheap liquor, small rooms, bad food, good music, and a overall cheap trip this is the place for you. Enjoy it.Also note that while booking trips to Jamaica you must do covid testing and have it uploaded and approved before coming. They do not tell you that when booking so we had to cancel and rebook trip. Quarantining is at the resort when you arrive however you can still leave resort.

Front desk staff members are friendly and courteous. Rooms are small, even at the 2 tiers above the standard room and no bathtub either). Beach sand behaves like quicksand. Wait staff was generally unpleasant, but you did have a few friendly ones. Chefs were great- super helpful, friendly and accommodating. BUFFET FOOD WAS EXCELLENT! Authentic jamaican cuisine. Property is small, pool is more or lessuseless for swiming.Bartenders are great, friendly and they took sanitation (covid) seriously. Fitness staff more or less ignored covid guidliness even in the buffet lines, but definitely during any activity they were involved in. And they're were some random men on canoes in the beach that would solicit drinks from guests. Property isn't being well maintained (even during a pandemic).You do get some beautiful sunsets if you upgrade to a beach facing room.

¡No lo recomendaría en absoluto! Lo único bueno que tengo que decir al respecto es que estaba situado en aguas hermosas y había desinfectante disponible en todas partes. La comida fue más que decepcionante. La cena fue la única comida decente. El personal NO fue amable. Se notaba que esto era solo un trabajo para ellos y a menudo sentía que los molestaba con cualquier solicitud. Había una mujer en el spa que era muy agradable. Fuera de eso, los camareros y el personal del bar dejaron MUCHO que desear. Pedí una manta a las 10 am. Recibí una respuesta a las 4 pm diciendo que uno estaba en camino. Nunca recibí la manta. Las habitaciones eran ridículamente pequeñas. Incluso después de actualizar 2 niveles, la habitación aún era pequeña y faltaba. Actualizar fue un completo desperdicio. No recomendaría este complejo en absoluto. Si este fuera mi primer viaje a Jamaica, no volvería.

En general, disfruté de mi estadía, pero la comida es de mal gusto y el personal de servicio debe capacitarse en el servicio, son maleducados y actúan como si le estuvieran haciendo un favor. Denise en el servicio de limpieza no era mucho mejor, el camarero del vestíbulo es una excepción notable y el La recepción en general fue excelente, aparte de la gerente Sue Lynn, que era bastante inepta. Rushane, Latoya, Oshane, Aldean merecen ser promovidos. Riu necesita capacitar a su personal para que aprecien a los huéspedes o no tendrán trabajo.

El personal es muy amable, especialmente la recepción, te reciben con una sonrisa amistosa y una bebida de cortesía.En el comedor para el desayuno, Oshin fue increíble, es muy educada y te sirve con clase y recuerda tanto a mí como a mi esposo la bebida que pedimos todas las mañanas, siempre vestía tan limpia y hermosa que su apariencia lo decía todo.Me encanta cómo fue tan bueno con la cuarentena asegurándonos de que usemos desinfectante para manos y que nos revisen la temperatura con toda la pandemia, nos sentimos seguros y el hotel estaba limpio 🙏⭐️ Hermoso paisaje, es un hotel muy hermoso en el que alojarse y ambos disfrutamos nuestro tiempo allí y el entretenimiento fue genial, especialmente la noche jamaicana con la canción y el baile folclóricos jamaicanos y la noche de karaoke.Me divertí mucho. Solo le di un 4 estrellas ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ porque no me gustó cómo se visten algunos de los adivinanzas y sé que este es un hotel solo para adultos, saldrías de tu habitación solo para ver adivinar en el vestíbulo principal con ropa interior tanga y traje de baño, ambos pensamos que era inapropiado, pero gracias Tuve una gran semana de vacaciones 💚🖤💛🇯🇲

Visité el año pasado por mi cumpleaños, sin embargo, mejoraron a uno de mis invitados y fui yo quien la invitó a la celebración de mi cumpleaños. Se negaron a mejorarme. No volveré a visitar este lugar. El entretenimiento fue bueno, excelentes bailarines excellent, excelentes espectáculos pero el servicio al cliente fue malo.

nos robaron más de 2000 nosotros. El hotel estaba mal desde arriba hacia abajo. Nos quejamos al gerente general en el lugar. Dijo que no podía hacer nada y nos dio un correo electrónico corporativo de queja. ¿Cómo dice el GM que no puede hacer nada?Las camas eran duras y llenas de bultos. Cuando estuvimos allí, tenía un 10% de ocupación, crees que te tratarían como si estuvieras en el 10% superior, pero nos trataron fatal.Nunca gastaré ni un centavo más con RIU. Would not recommend at all! The only good thing I have to say about it is it was situated on beautiful water and there was sanitizer readily available everywhere. The food was beyond disappointing. Dinner was the only decent meal. The staff was NOT friendly. You could tell this was just a job for them and I often felt like I was inconveniencing them with any request. There was one woman at the spa who was very pleasant. Outside of that, the bar tenders and staff left MUCH to be desired. I requested a blanket at 10am. I got a response at 4pm saying one was on the way. Never received the blanket. The rooms were ridiculously small. Even after upgrading 2 levels, the room was still small and lacking. Upgrading was a complete waste. I would not recommend this resort at all. If this were my first trip to Jamaica, I would not return.

Overall I enjoyed my stay but the food is tasteless and the wait staff needs to be trained in service they are surly and act as if they are doing you a favor Denise in housekeeping wasnt much better the bartender in the lobby is a noteable exception and the front desk overall was great apart from a manager Sue lynn who was pretty inept. Rushane, Latoya, Oshane, Aldean all deserve to be promoted Riu needs to train it's staff to appreciate guests or they won't have jobs

Very friendly staff especially the front desk they welcome you with a friendly smile and a complimentary drink,In the dining room for breakfast Oshin was awesome she’s so polite and she serves you with class and she remembers both me and my husband the drink we order every morning, she always dressed so clean and beautifulher appearance said it all.I love how you were so good with the quarantine making sure we uses hand sanitizer and get our temperature checked with the whole pandemic we feel safe and the hotel was clean 🙏⭐️ Beautiful scenery it is a very beautifulhotel to stay at and we both enjoy our time there and the entertainment was great especially the Jamaican night with the Jamaican folk song and dance and the karaoke night I had so much fun 😆🙏💚🖤💛 I only gave it a 4 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️because I didn’t like how some of the guess dresses and I know this is adults only hotel you would come out of your room only to see guess in the main lobby with g-strings underwear and bating suit we both think it was inappropriate, but thank you Riu Reggae we had a great vacation week 💚🖤💛🇯🇲

we were robbed of over 2000 us. The hotel was bad from the top down. We complained to the general manager on site.He said he couldn't do anything and gave us a complaint corporate email. How does the gm say he can't do anything.The beds were hard and lumpy. When we were there it was about 10% occupancy you think you would be treated like you were in the top 10% but they treated us awful.I will never spend another dime with RIU please see the attached receipt for our police report stay away from this place

'Todo incluido' con muchos conceptos básicos excluidos.PROS: Bartenders profesionales que siempre estaban de buen humor para que tengas un suministro constante de bebidas frías y cócteles.Equipo de recepción atento y cortés.Buena selección de comida en el buffet y en general sabrosa.La playa aquí es hermosa, la piscina es agradable y la propiedad está limpia y bien cuidada.CONTRAS:Los artículos de tocador eran lamentablemente inadecuados, solo barras de jabón pequeñas y gorros de ducha, todo lo demás que necesitará traer. A la ducha le faltaba un dispensador de champú. Pedí uno, pero el servicio de limpieza debería haberse dado cuenta y tomar nota de que lo arreglaran. No lo conseguí después de una estancia de 10 noches.El personal de alimentos y bebidas necesita más formación. Algunos eran profesionales, pero otros no. Algunos miembros del personal del buffet obviamente no querían estar allí - lenguaje corporal pobre, definitivamente no pertenecen a la hospitalidad.Si se olvida de las comidas estructuradas, tendrá hambre hasta la próxima comida. Han envuelto sándwiches en el bar del vestíbulo, no muy frescos y algunas manzanas y plátanos.Se necesita mucha más intervención de la gerencia para mantener los estándares de Riu, sentí que este lugar estaba en piloto automático. Es lo que es. Solo para adultos, lo cual es genial, pero cargar música en ambas piscinas a veces hace que sea difícil relajarse. Especialmente el énfasis en el rap duro, con el DJ interrumpiendo constantemente. El personal es increíblemente amable, pero eso es Jamaica. Lugar más pequeño, pero tiene playa, piscinas, voleibol, veleros. Buen tiempo. Creo que es genial para un primer contador de tiempo.

Estaba bien, entiendo que hay covid pero esperaba que fuera mucho mejor, pensé que iba a tener el alcohol en mi habitación para no tener que subir y bajar. Había un bar abierto las 24 horas donde puedes conseguir bebidas y comida que dice hamburguesas y perritos calientes y cosas así, pero cuando vas allí es sándwiches Jamón, atún, jamón y queso. El personal de limpieza fue excelente y algunos de los camareros No estoy seguro de si regresaría aunque

La comida no era buena en absoluto. Horas de comida muy limitadas. Si quieres dormir hasta tarde, buena suerte a partir de las 7 a.m., cuando algunas personas comienzan a mudarse o terminan sus vacaciones y dejan todas las puertas de las habitaciones, tenga un cerrador que cierre las puertas y cierre de golpe metal contra metal y yo ' Estoy hablando muy, muy alto, ya que resuena en el pasillo. Diseño muy pobre. Entretenimiento muy pobre 1 juego de billar haciendo el día durante una hora y 1 y media por la noche, que generalmente era solo un Dj. Terrible experiencia viniendo aquí, esta fue mi primera vez en Riu. Me hicieron reservar un día antes para que mi habitación estuviera lista antes de las 4 pm. Al llegar me dijeron que todavía tenía que esperar hasta las 4 pm, así que básicamente me robaron una noche. Al pedir una actualización o un reembolso del dinero, nadie puede ayudar, nadie sabe nada. Cuando llamé al servicio de atención al cliente fue inútil. Ahora estoy aquí atrapado en unLobby esperando hasta las 4 p.m., que era lo que estaba tratando de evitar. Cuando pido un gerente me dijeronPara sentarse a un lado y nadie vino. Entiendo que COVID tiene tiempos difíciles, pero hacer que la gente gaste dinero extra cuando no puedes acomodarlos desde el principio es incorrecto. Aconsejaría noVenga a este hotel hasta que termine el COVID, están multando cualquier cantidad de dinero de la gente.Mi estadía fue corta y estoy agradecido de que no haya sido más larga. La piscina está sucia, la playa era una mejor opción.

Las bebidas en este complejo eran débiles. Tuvimos que pedir cada vez que hicieran una bebida fuerte y todavía estaban débiles. Todos los bares en la piscina estaban cerrados. También quitaron los mini-bares de las habitaciones debido al COVID, pero eso no tiene sentido ya que las manijas se pueden desinfectar en cada habitación. La comida fuera de los restaurantes principales era insatisfactoria. Si no llegaste a cenar a uno de los restaurantes ... buena suerte con una buena comida. Por último, había gatos fuera de los restaurantes, lo que hacía que comer allí fuera poco apetitoso. Nunca he estado tan sobrio en un resort, he estado en otros dos Rius en Jamaica y en otros resorts en el Caribe.

En el almuerzo en una de las estaciones, la comida estaba fría (pez espada y brócoli). Regresé con la comida para avisarles. No tenían microondas, así que me sirvieron la misma comida de nuevo a petición mía, ya que no había forma de calentar la comida. Todavía hacía frío. Me enviaron una carta de que me cobraron $ 300 dólares por fumar en mi habitación y nunca fumar en ella. Tenía un cartel que decía "no molestar" desde que me registré. Hablé con Elaine y le expliqué que solo fumo en los lugares designados y que nadie debería haber estado en mi habitación. Todavía me dicen que me cobrarán por escuchar lo que dicen los de limpieza. El servicio de limpieza nunca había estado en mi habitación y también. Fue ignorado y básicamente no es nada que podamos hacer. Nunca me alojaré aquí de nuevo

Mi nombre es La-Toya Hill, agente de viajes y visitante del resort del 31 de julio al 2 de agosto. Debo decir que hubo cosas que me gustaron del resort, pero desafortunadamente son pocas en comparación con las que no me gustaron. Me gustó que el lugar estuviera limpio y las comodidades estuvieran en buenas condiciones. Se observaron los protocolos COVID-19 en general. No me di cuenta de que había servidores limitados en el buffet que creaban largas colas y que la comida se enfriaba cuando terminé. Tampoco me gustó que envié un correo electrónico al equipo de ventas solicitando un recorrido y hasta ahora aún no he recibido una respuesta.Creo que los canales deben publicarse en la sala y los números de teléfono deben actualizarse en la lista del teléfono para incluir los números de recepción y mantenimiento. Por último, pero no menos importante, mis reservas no se pudieron encontrar en el punto de seguridad. Mis reservas también incluyeron bajo nota especial que mi cumpleaños es uno de los días incluidos en mi estadía. No llame a nada. Fue al hacer el registro de salida que me obsequiaron con algo cuando pregunté si el hotel no "celebra" el cumpleaños de un cliente. Nuestra primera vez en la isla. Nos lo pasamos de maravilla. El personal de animación fue increíble e hizo todo lo posible para mantener a los huéspedes entretenidos y comprometidos. Ni una sola vez no los viste sonreír (está bien, solo cuando tenían la máscara puesta). La comida estuvo buena. La razón por la que no le di un 5 estrellas fue que RIU, como organización, debería haber comunicado mejor qué servicios no estaban brindando. Aunque sabíamos que las cosas no iban a ser tan normales como lo estarían considerando la situación, y no están abiertas al máximo de su capacidad, habría sido bueno estar al tanto antes de registrarse, así que no fue un shock para nosotros. descubra que no hay servicio de habitaciones No hay minibar No hay bares en la piscina y solo hay 2 bares abiertos en todo el complejo y tuvo que pedir agua en la recepción. Pedimos paños, ya que los necesitábamos para ducharnos, y la recepción estaba seguro de que los traerían casi al instante. También es necesario comunicar mejor la rotación de los restaurantes. 'All-inclusive' with many basics excluded.PROS: Professional Bartenders who were always in good spirits so you have a constant supply of cold beverages and cocktails.Responsive and courteous front desk Team.Good food selection at the buffet and generally tasty.The beach here is beautiful, pool is nice and the property is clean and well maintained.CONS:Toiletries were woefully inadequate small soap bars and shower caps only, everything else you will need to bring. Shower was missing a shampoo dispenser. I asked for one but Housekeeping should've noticed and made note to have that fixed. I didn't get it after a 10 night stay.Food and beverage staff need more training. Some were professional but others were not. Some staff in the buffet obviously didn't want to be there - poor body language, definitely do not belong in hospitality.If you miss the structured mealtimes you will will hunger until the next meal. They have wrapped sandwiches in the lobby bar - not very fresh and some apples and bananas.A lot more management intervention is needed to keep the Riu Standards up, I felt like this place was on Auto-pilot. I wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend this Riu property at this time.

It is what it is.Adults only, which is great but load music at both pools sometimes makes it hard to relax.Especially the emphasis on hard rap, with the DJ interrupting constantly.Staff is awesome friendly, but that's Jamaica.Smaller venue, but has beach, pools, volleyball, sailboats.Great time.I think it is great for a first timer.

It was just OK I get that there's covid going on but I expected it to be much better I thought I was going to have the alcohol in my Room so we didn't have to go up and down. There was a 24 hour bar where you can get drinks and food it says hamburgers and hot dogs and stuff like that but when you go there it's sandwiches Ham, tuna, & ham and cheese. The cleaning staff was great and some of the bartenders Not sure I would return tho

If you want to sleep in in the morning good luck starting about 7am when some people start moving or getting done with their vacation and leaving all the doors on the rooms have a closer that pulls the doors close and slam close metal on metal and I’m talking very very loud as it echoes down the hallway very poor design. Entertainment very poor 1 pool game doing the day for an hour an 1and a half at night witch was usually just a Dj.On a good note the staff was very polite and attentive! But I wouldn’t stay there again

Terrible experience coming here, this was my first time at Riu. They made me book a day early so my room would be ready before the 4pm check in. Upon arrival I was told I still have to wait til 4 pm, so I was basically robbed of a night. When asking to be upgraded or the money refunded no one can help, no one knows anything. When I call customer service it was useless. Now I’m here stuck in a hotLobby waiting til 4pm, I’m which I was trying to avoid. When I ask for a manager they told meTo sit to the side and no one came.I understand COVID has times rough, but to make people spendextra money when you couldn’t accommodate them from the first place is wrong. I’d advise to notCome to this hotel until COVID is over they are finessing any amount of money from people.My stay was short, and I’m thankful that it wasn’t longer. The pool is dirty, the beach was a better option.

The drinks at this resort were weak. We had to ask every single time to make a drink strong and they were still weak. All the swim up bars were closed. They also removed the mini-bars from the rooms due to COVID but that doesn’t make sense since the handles could be sanitized in each room. The food outside of the main restaurants was subpar. If you didn’t make it to one of the restaurants for dinner...good luck getting a good meal. Lastly, there were cats outside the restaurants which made eating there unappetizing. Never been so sober at a resort, I’ve been to two other Rius in Jamaica and other resorts in the Caribbean.

At lunch at one of the stations, the food was cold (swordfish and broccoli). I went back withthe meal to let them know. They had no microwave soI was served the same meal again at my request as there was no way to warm the food. It was still cold. They had no idea how to solve the problem and serve me a warm meal. I was sent a letter of being charged $300 dollars for smoking in my room and never smoke in it. Had a sign up “do not disturbed” since I check in. Spoke to Elaine and explained that I’m only smoke at designated spots and no one should of been in my room. Still being told I be charged do to hear say from housekeeping. Housekeeping shld have never been in my room and as well. Was ignored and basically it’s nothing we can do. I will never stay here again

My name is La-Toya Hill, a travel agent and a visitor to the resort July 31-August 2. I must say there were things I liked about the resort but unfortunately they are few compared to what I did not like. I liked that the place was clean and the amenities were in good condition. The COVID-19 protocols by and large were observed.I did not appreciate that there was limited servers at the buffet creating long lines and food getting cold by the time I got through. I also did not like that I sent an email to the sales team requesting a tour and up to now I am yet to receive a response.I believe the channels need to be posted in the room and phone numbers updated on the list on the phone to include the front desk and maintenance numbers.Last but not least my reservations could not be found at the security point. My reservations also included under special note that my birthday is one one of the days included in my stay. No phone call nothing. It was upon checking out I was presented with something when I inquired if the hotel does not "celebrate" a customers birthday.Yes covid 19 is happening but let's not forget a customer's experience is what will make or break a business.As an individual and travel agent I cannot recommend this resort.

Our first time to the island.We had a blast.The entertainment staff was awesome and went above and beyond to keep the guest entertained and engaged.Never once did you not see them smiling (ok only when they had mask on). The food was good.The reason I didn't give a 5 star was that RIU as an organization should have communicated better what amenities they were not providing.Though we knew things were not going to be as normal as theywould be considering the situation, andthey are not open to full capacity, it still would have been nice to been made aware prior to checking in so it was not such a shock to find out there wasNo Room service No mini bar No swim up bars and only 2 bars open in whole resort and you had to ask for water at the front desk . We did ask for washcloths as we needed them to shower, and the front desk was sure to have them brought up almost instantly.Also need to communicate the rotation of the restaurants better.We stumbled across the whole what restaurant is open on on what day and what time on the RIU app only because we overheard another couple talking about it.But overall it was a great time had by all. I would recommend it to others.

I stayed here for a birthday trip as a solo traveler and had a blast. I’m surprised by the negative reviews. I enjoyed a lovely stress reducing spa treatment and a snorkeling trip from the hotel! Both were great! The food was overall pretty good. Breakfast wasn’t always the best but I always enjoyed lunch and dinner with my favorites being ackee and salt fish, jerk bbq chicken and my absolute favorite was the oxtails. They weren’t too many guests on property which was great too bc of the pandemic. There were many things that made me feel safe- temperature checks everywhere and masks enforced everywhere as well.I did run into a couple of bad attitudes at the buffet line but for the most part everyone was very kind. The drinks were so great too and you could get one at any time! I really enjoyed my stay thanks for making my pandemic birthday a great one! 💕

I'm only giving 1 star because it's the lowest I can give. I'm not sure if the team responding to these types of reviews are actually actioning the areas of opportunities as a lot of these complaints are the same and are still happening. I recently stayed at RIU Reggae (July 31st- August 3, 2020) in Montego Bay and I was far from impressed with the food and overall service given. As a fellow Jamaican and a manager in the service industry, I am very concerned if our intention is to have a swift recovery from the impacts of COVID 19.First thing first, little to no customer service. I visited with a group of friends and about 95% of our staff interactions were poor and outright rude in some cases; especially those handling food and drinks. Their facial expressions appear annoyed and bothered if you have questions and if they do respond, common courtesy/respect/professionalism/politeness seem to be missing from their training. Some of the waitresses didnt even bother to look at us when responding to questions. Secondly, the alcoholic beverages were watered down and the food tasteless. There seem to be little to no care in preparing the food for your guests, we asked a few staff about this and their response was, they dont eat the food (in jamaican dialect). If your staff is not happy with it, why do you serve it to your guests? As you know, we Jamaicans are accustomed to flavorful dining experiences, what we received was a downright shame to our Jamaican culture. In addition, I'm not sure if your ingredients are fresh as most of the meals did not seem as if they were prepared from fresh ingredients, especially the chicken. I'm seeing similar reviews on this months ago with the online team responding to correct but yet it is still happening. There is a generic response to all of these complaints and it doesn't seem as though your management team is committed to correcting these simple nuances.So save yourself the trouble, this review is not to get a response from you as apparently nothing has changed since similar reviews months ago. This review is merely to give an insight on the actual expectations staying at the RIU Montego Bay. As a proud Jamaican, I will continue to encourage those I come in contact with from both home and abroad to vacay here as our island has a lot to offer and service typically is great in this industry, but if you wish to get a really good taste of Jamaica, as we Jamaicans would say, take my foolish advise, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY WITH RIU MOBAY. And to my fellow JAMAICANS, we work way too hard, NUH DASH WEH YUH MONEY!

Stayed here from the 9th 16th then extended our stay 4 more days..ONLY because Hilton didn't reply fast enough...hotel property was clean first 5days after that spills everywhere were not cleaned up...towels everywhere...empty glasses everywhere...as far as I'm concerned this hotel is false advertising! Minibar gone (if u say cuz of covid that's bs cuz Hilton had everything in theres...no restaurants opened until our last few days there...if u can hand a guest bottles of water u can put in rooms! Little store there closed super early which should have been open until at least 9pm incase ppl need sunblock ext. This resort was UNDERSTAFFED...the buffet was constantly the same food ... half the workers didn't want to be there...we had to leave 3 times to go to grocery for water n drinks n snacks in our room which AGAIN inconvenience! This hotel still remains to false advertise about everything! The grounds n views were beautiful but thats about it. Ur charging the same and taking away everything...i definitely wouldn't reccomend n i come to jamacia 2 times a yr every year PLZ QUIT USING COVID FOR YOUR EXCUSES! OR PROTOCOLS....its a shameful excuse everything taken away could have wiped down everytime a new guest came in...no excuses!!

Good evening, my name is Rene Ragan and i recently stayed at the Riu Regge on July 21st- July 27th... i actually came back home today This happens to be my 4th time in jamaica and i will say this was the worse hotel and experiencei have ever witnessed in Jamaica .. i paid 2,500 to eat a ham sandwich at night i had to pay a taxi driver to take me to the gas station just so i can get bottles of water and soda to drink.. when i called the front desk they never answered, my cousins also stayed in the same resort as well and they are also very disappointed with the service. i came there with 3 other guest andwe had to entertain your hotel guest, all your hotelguest sawwe had our speaker playing music and they begged us to stay at night just to hear the music... we came to the riu “ reggae” and never heard any jamaican music.. every night was the same thing going on.. what makes me extremely angry is last night i went to use the bathroom right by the pool and thewas over flowedfrom the bathroom ti the outside steps ! Urine everywhere and I wasn’t aware so I ended up steppingin it, that was the most filthiest thing i ever seen in my life.. i get it due to the covid but every other hotel on the island was doing way better than the riu reggae.. my cousins and i will be writing a review and i will take this to corporatebecause i don’t understand how your guest have to starve at night.. who comes to jamaica and has to get a small ham sandwich at night? This is honestly not okay. It makes me very angry that I had to experience that on my trip. I spent more money on food and beverages out of the hotel then on my whole trip that was suppose to be “all inclusive”. Your staff wasn’t friendly at all and the hotel was very dirty.My review on this hotel so far is not good. Este fue nuestro primer viaje a Jamaica. Llegamos al Riu Reggae de nuestro largo día de viaje, ¿teníamos hambre? ¡Descubrimos que no había nada abierto! No hay servicio de habitaciones! Lo único disponible son los bocadillos que tenía que pedirle al camarero. ¡El pan era tan duro como una roca! ¡Fue horrible! Tuvimos que esperar la cena para que abriera el buffet. El buffet estaba bien. Luego nos dijeron que debido a que no se registraron suficientes huéspedes en el resort, ¡ninguno de los otros restaurantes estaría abierto! El buffet era lo mismo una y otra vez durante 5 días. ¡Fue horrible! El personal fue muy grosero! ¡Tomó tanto tiempo conseguir nuestras bebidas! ¡Casi terminarías de comer antes de tomar tus bebidas! Si pediste recargas o algo así, el personal actuó molesto !! ¡Fue una experiencia muy mala! ¡Nunca nos quedaremos en ninguna propiedad de Riu Reggae!

The hotel is lovely, the staff is rather accommodating and the beach is rather nice.For those who aren’t fond of diversity be aware/ this hotel is mostly frequent by African American guests.The entertainment at night can be pretty loud if you are an early sleeper.

This was our first trip to Jamaica. We arrived at the Riu Reggae from our long day of traveling, we were hungry? We found out that there was nothing open! No room service! The only thing available we’re sandwiches you had to ask the bartender for. The bread was as hard as a rock! Was horrible! We had to wait for dinner for the buffet to open. The buffet was ok. We were then told due to not enough guest checked in to the resort, none of the other restaurants would be open! The buffet was the same thing over and over for 5 days!! Was awful! The wait staff was so rude! Took so long to get our drinks! You would almost be finished eating before you got your drinks! If you asked for refills or anything the wait staff acted ticked off!! It was a very bad experience! We will never stay at any Riu Reggae properties!

Para nada agradable. Mala atención de las mozas. Poca limpieza. A las 17 hs todavía no hicieron la habitación cuando salimos a desayunar a las 9 y de ahí a la playa. No reponen el frigobar, hay que andar pidiendo por teléfono y no entienden español.La playa llena de algas y no la limpian, aparte que no vale mucho ...No solucionan los reclamos hechos desde la habitacion por ej: que no funcionan los enchufes o usb para cargar el telefono.No controlan si las cosas funcionan correctamente, previo a entregar la habitacion.Siendo una cadena española no hay personal que hable español !No vale lo que cobran !

Primera experiencia de la marca Riu. En general, la comida y el entretenimiento fueron fantásticos. Fuimos a una escapada rápida por 4 noches. Propiedad frente a la playa con piscinas y música durante todo el día. Gran ambiente optimista. Siempre encontramos un par de sillas una al lado de la otra a pesar de la cantidad de personas. El único inconveniente fue la habitación. Las paredes eran bastante delgadas y las camas eran mediocres. Pedimos más almohadas, así que ayudó un poco.

First Riu Brand experience. Overall the food and entertainment were fantastic. We went for a quick getaway for 4 nights. Beachfront property with swim up pools and music playing throughout the day. Great upbeat vibe. We always found a couple chairs next to each other despite the amount of people. The only downside was the room. Walls were pretty thin and beds were mediocre. We called for more pillows so that helped a bit.

Acceso a bares en todo momento y al almuerzo buffet.- Gimnasio (gratis) y spa ($)Negativo:- Pequeña playa- Sin acceso a las playas cercanas (muro de piedra) ... Tienes que ir al Riu Montego Bay o coger un taxi e ir a otra playa si quieres caminar un buen rato en la playa ...- No discoteca ni "fiesta" por la noche después del espectáculo de las 21:30 h.- Avión pasando sobre el hotel (no nos molestó especialmente ...)- Como el sitio es pequeño, la animación se escucha desde todos lados, incluso desde la playa que está cerca de la piscina ... Si quieres descansar, puede resultar un poco molesto.

De todos los Rius en los que nos hemos alojado, el Riu Reggae fue el mejor. La comida era excepcionalmente buena, las bebidas increíbles y el personal muy acogedor. Felicitaciones a la gerencia. Su personal trabaja en conjunto como un gran equipo. Desde el momento en que llegamos nos sentimos bienvenidos. El personal de recepción, el personal de limpieza, el personal del bar y el equipo de entretenimiento se aseguraron de que estuviéramos bien atendidos. Sin duda volveremos. Beautiful hotel!From the minute my family and I arrived to when we left we received nothing but the best service ever...from every member of staff!They seemed genuinely happy to be working there.We were celebrating my father's 80th birthday and the staff made it even more special!His room was decorated and a cake was waiting for him there when he got back from breakfast. He was so happy! Every day was beautiful! The food was excellent - they offered a wide variety of meal choices every day in the main dining room plus they had other excellent restaurant options. Entertainment was good too - never a dull moment! I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and I'm so ready to go back.Thank you Riu Reggae!!

Having said that, keep in mind that you'll hear planes taking off on occasion.Cleanliness: very clean and well maintained.Staff: everyone was genuinely there to ensure you were having a good time .the entertainment staff worked endlessly and kept the energy upbeat literally the whole day. Bartenders and servers prompt and attentive.Beach: okay. Beach chairs were abundant but because it's man-made, sand isn't as soft as 7-mile in Negril. Unfortunately we had that to compare our beach to but it was still good.Overall, great experience at an adults-only resort. If you're looking for lively vacation this resort is highly recommended. Will return!

It was fantastic! We couldn’t have ask for better service, a cleaner spot and nicer people. The entertainment on the beach everyday and on the stage every night was amazing! We fell in love with Barbie girl, Amber and little Lexy. If you go watch for little Lexy on stage she is truly something special. They are all so talented! Best place ever!

Overall cool experience. Compared to what my expectations of the resort was, it met expectations.Room was decent. I wish they had an extra pillow or two. Wish they had a thick blanket option (yes, rooms with hotel AC can get nippy). And at the side of the toilet, they had a small container where they kept the toilet brush and some type of solution. Kinda smelled funny and it was tough to look at to be honest.Aside from the room... The rest of the hotel was awesome. All-you-can-drink mid-shelf liquor. Awesome bartenders and servers!Entertainment, in some form, all day from about 0900 to 2300 (sometimes later).

I don’t even know where to begin with this place.I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff was friendly, funny and inviting. The only thing I did not like is there is no hot foos available 24 hours a day and there is no room service. You would think at an all inclusive resort, these things would be available! They had snacks available 24 hours but they were NOT good at all 🤢. I was extremely disappointed in the stale nachos, popcorn and microwave hamburgers. They have alcohol 24 hours a day so you would think they would have FRESH FOOD available! Other than that, I had a blast and plan on going back in a few months!Be sure to try the Jerk chicken....IT IS AMAZING!

I would give it a higher rating except it really bothered me that the hotel was not environmentally aware of their beaches, ocean life and coral. We often saw plates, drinks, trash, left over party supplies on the beaches and around the resort. At first we assumed they would be cleaning over night, but the trash was mostly left the entire week we were there. The staff was friendly and very hard working. I just think it wasn’t a priority of management. Food was mostly good, beach was beautiful. Late night food options as well as off-meal hours are very limited and blah. Plenty of on site activities to fill your days.

Hands down the best spot in Montego Bay Jamaica!We will only stay at this resort while in Jamaica.Despite what you read regarding safety I beg to differ.You have to use commom sense and not get wasted on alcohol and go off with locals.Use your travel smarts and you will be ok.There is live entertainment all throughout the day.Free watersporting activities.The room service is 24 hours and the food and service is beyond measure!

Una super experiencia, el hotel está nuevo, la playa es muy bonita, la animación, la comida , lo que más amé fue el pollo jerk, había justo al lado de la piscina una caseta durante todo el día y bebidas.Las instalaciones me gustaron mucho, las habitaciones, los empleados, y las presentaciones en la noche.Lo único malo que pase es que de 5 días, hubo dos días seguidos que la alarma de seguridad se activaba sin razón, la primera vez fue de nervios, hasta que llegamos los huéspedes a recepción y era falsa alarma gracias a Dios, pero fue bien incómodo.Y no se sorprenda que lleguen vendedores en botes hasta el límite que se puede nadar vendiendo souvenirs y hasta marihuana porque no los dejan entrar.

Un hotel muy acogedor , pero el único problema fue el idioma ya que la mayoría de la gente habla Ingles , pero en la recepción el primer día nos recibió la señorita Carmen , una persona de habla hispana muy profesional y amable que de un principio nos brindo su ayuda y asesoría , lo máximo como persona , en los comedores otra persona de nombre Frank de habla hispana ,siempre atento a nuestras necesidades y cordial con toda la gente , al final el idioma pasó a un segundo plano por la amabilidad de la gente para atender, las comidas de gran variedad y buena calidad , buena la recreación y muy tranquilo , especial para estar en familia y muy preocupados del aseo .Muchas gracias a todos por la buena atención y con muchos deseos de volver nuevamente

Es un buen hotel y en general tiene el mismo estándar que tienes los hoteles de esa cadena. Las habitaciones son muy cómodas y tiene su propio bar y frigobar de libre acceso. Las piscinas son agradables pero no para nadar ya que no son de gran profundidad... La comida y los tragos son de primera... Lo único negativo es que solo se manejan en idioma inglés, por tanto olviden si hablan otro idioma costará la comunicación con la gente del hotel. En todo caso no es tan grave, pero si lo considero con otros hoteles de esa cadena, que un barman era capaz de comunicarse con un ruso, un francés y un español al mismo tiempo, eso se extraña

Excelente hotel 5 estrellas! Mis vacaciones en este hotel resultaron de maravilla. Las habitaciones son limpias, amplias, confortables y nuevas. El hotel es maravilloso, nuevo y es only adults. La comida muy variada, con muy buenos ingredientes y con un perfecto servicio a los huéspedes, sin importar la procedencia o el idioma de los mismos. Disfrute de todos los shows cuidadosamente preparados por lady momo. Felicitaciones a su staff de entretenimientos, al de cocina, servicios, aseos, recepciin6, y todo el personal en general. Definitivamente recomiendo este hotel. Su ubicación es inmejorable, cerca del aeropuerto, con una playa tranquila y segura,además de limpia y con muchas actividades gratuitas incluidas en la estadía. Felicitaciones a todo el plantel de este maravilloso hotel, y espero y deseo volver a visitarlos pronto y que me reciban de igual manera!! =)

First, this is an Adult Only resort. It’s nice to be able to have a kid free vacation. The staff was very friendly, from the reception staff to the cleaning staff. The room is updated and clean, we see cleaning staff every morning. The food at all of the restaurants is great, the steak house may be my favorite. Fresh fruit, coffee and a host of other food available during breakfast. 24 hour bar available and we also had a full mini bar in our room.

Everything was really small and not great amenities. I've been to several resorts in various countries and this seemed like they need more practice and coaching for the entertainment and to pump up the people. The water reminded me of lake water... not the crystal clear blue Caribbean water I like from the ocean.Food was 5 stars, bartenders 4 stars, beach staff 5 stars. Room 3 stars. Overall grounds 3 stars. The view from our room was the loud a/c unit, 2 stars. The beach was always empty so I was good with that, but the beach and pool were on top of each other.

Lots to be said about this resort! So much to love, the staff are incredibly friendly where ever you go. The food choices seem endless. The jerk chicken hut is amazing, we went everyday we were there. The entertainment staff were fantastic. The resort is a perfect size if you aren't looking for something to big. We loved it and would go back. The rooms were great as well.

We enjoyed our stay the resort and room looked nice and appeared clean. The bed was a bit hard and there was no comforter on the bed. We found a thin blue blanket in the closet that we used and the maid tucked in under the sheets for us when she made the bed. They also had robes in the closet that were nice to have.The only other thing that I didn't like was you have to leave a room key in this slot near the door to have power in the room. We left leave a key in the slot and went down to the pool or beach and tried to leave our devices on the charger but the maid would always cut the power off. The beach and 2 pools with swim up bars were nice hangout spots. Plenty of chairs in our out of the sun for people but no drink service on the beach. They did have the best jerk chicken that I tasted on the island right on the beach everyday from 12-3pm. The food at the main restaurant was good as well they always had a different variety of foods. The entertainment was ok a couple of the shows were boring to me and I couldn't understand why the sung and played the baby shark song a least twice maybe more at an all adult resort. Very annoying. Other than that nice resort and good location walking distance to store and shops across the street.

If you're looking for the perfect getaway with lots of fun, excitement, great food, clean facility, excellent service, and friendly staff; you must visit the Riu Reggae. My group enjoyed themselves from sunrise to sunset. I've visited other resorts in Jamaica, but I must admit the Riu Reggae is one of the best on my top 5 list. There's so much to see and do: Martha Brae River Rafting in Montego Bay, Snorkeling, Party Boat (my fav), Shopping, Margaritaville, Sightseeing and learning the culture (be sure to get a driver who knows the history and doesn't mind sharing). Don't be afraid to try something different. :)

Visited Riu Reggae during my first Jamaican getaway. The room was nicely put together. Did have a partial view of the beach. Didn't get to go kayaking due to weather but did enjoy riding the waves on the party boat. There's friendly staff and great variety of foods. Was disappointed because none of the restaurants served curry chicken until the final night of my stay. Ended up going off the resort wasting money at this local eatery. Make sure you request for extra shots if you prefer strong drinks and you must try the liquid ganja.

Riu Reggae is a beautiful resort but I wouldn't stay there again if I had a choice. The first problem upon arrival is that my friend and I who were sharing a room and requested a room with two beds were told that we would have to share a bed. We were then told that we could switch to another room the next day but when the next day came, all of that changed. We end up having to stay in that room for our entire stay.The other problem I have is with the restaurants. Coming out of the beach or the pool, I was not able to just grab anything to eat. I tried to go to the buffet and was told I needed sleeves. When I changed and tried to go to a sit down restaurant, I was told I needed pants. Crazy me, I only packed shorts since this was Jamaica!Went back to buffet to try to get some authentic jamaican food and my choices were limited. It was just a series of events that were very frustrating.Overall I got over all of the resorts different rules and really enjoyed myself. The shows in the evening were great and with all the beautiful women running around all day, it was hard to stay upset about anything. If I was to stay there again, it might be better since I know what to expect now, but It wouldn't be my first choice.

Very good adult hotel, staff is nice and friendly, rooms are spacious with a sea view, big balconies and all standard amenities including a mini bar and a drink bar. The hotel has 4 restaurants including main buffet with great food. It is conveniently located in Montego Bay beach. The services provided by the hotel were excellent.

Mixed review...clean, great service, fun, food and drinks were really good, but beach was horrible.It's a man made beach which feels like quicksand when you walk in.No waves since in a little cove.You can only walk the beach on the 3 Riu properties.Don't go if the beach is your focal point or you will be disappointed.

They will blame covid but its very boring and the food selection is very limited even with the restaurants. The rooms are clean and cool, place is safe. Some workers need to learn tact in how they deal with customers. Equality is always an issue.

The room, the staff, the entertainment was amazing! However, the food was horrible and the drinks were not strong at all it was like drink juice. I didn't have not one good plate of food while I was there at Riu Reggae and I mean it's Jamaica I was expecting so much more when it came down to the food!
