Stayed from Dec 24 to Dec 28. All the negative reviews are true. Food - small selection, not tasty, 25% of items we okay, lack of staff, had to look for cutlery and water/coffee, cooking staff miserable. Beach - good Drinks - okay Rooms - okay I thought the hotel would be exceptional due to the Christmas holiday. It's a good 3star hotel.

Sunscape was a great place to do a solo trip as a young woman. I felt very safe and everyone was incredibly kind. I highly recommend upgrading to the sun club package. It is worth it to be able to get a room upgrade, room service, and access to a few amenities others cannot. A lot of the reviews are mentioning the food. I think it's great. It all has the Dominican "spin" on it, so you cannot expect everything to taste the same as in North America. Things aren't salted as much, but you can add salt (I prefer this). The buildings, though a bit dated, are kept very clean and updated. They were re-sealing the children's pool while I was there, but the main pool is so large it really didn't matter. The shower is literally the best shower I have ever had - rainfall and nice hot water (or cold if you so wish). I cannot say enough how kind everyone is. They are so welcoming, especially of you trying to speak some Spanish. The water aerobics classes at 11am daily are SO fun! The beach wasn't too crowded, and it was spectacular views. My balcony door did not lock properly, but I was on the third floor so it did not bother me. Accessibility-wise, it's not the greatest, but not the worst. There are no elevators, but there are ground floor suites. Most of the restaurants are up a flight of stairs. A few have no chair lift, but the rest can be accessed from a chairlift on the stairs. The beds were firm, but comfortable. The AC is strong and easily adjustable. The staff decorated and did a tree lighting ceremony for December 1st and it was beautiful. I cannot recommend Sunscape enough for the amazing service, good food, and spacious suites. Oh - a bonus is you don't have to book any of your meals for any of the restaurants - you just line up! On my last fully day, the concierge called my room to make sure everything has been good and if I needed anything. WiFi is a bit iffy at times, but generally, worked great.

We were pleased with the level of service. Everyone who worked at the resort was kind, caring, helpful. We must’ve stayed during a slow time of year. Out of all the restaurants only 2 were open each evening. The food was ok, I wish there were more Dominican options. We stayed in the SunClub but didn’t use the pool. The rooms were nice and very clean. The beach isn’t far and was the best part of our trip. We loved waking up, having breakfast, and heading to the ocean. Overall, it was a good trip.

Truly one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The food is inedible! AC does not work anywhere. Shower floods. Roaches in room. Pool is dirty. This place is a genuine dump. Please do not waste your money.

This resort is one of the best in this area. I have been coming here for a long time. If you stay for a few nights you for sure won't be let down. We stayed at the sun club for 10 days myself my husband and my son, all the staff are fantastic and what really surprised us was how good the food is, the beach is nice as well the only downfall on the beach is the local come on the beach and try and sell you stuff. We are going back to this resort in April.

Negative stars if I could. I have a reservation (that I am actively attempting to cancel) at this hotel and after reading the reviews we decided to not risk it and go to another hotel. Fabricated out of thin air is cancellation fee that’s the price equivalent for the whole stay. Even though on all our documentation when we booked, states we have risk free cancellation up until 3 days before our arrival. I have my confirmation emails and screenshots stating I have risk-free cancellation. I have been calling non stop for the past 3 days and everyone I get in contact with keeps telling me there’s nothing they can do and to call someone else. It’s giving broke energy. Sunscape is playing with people’s time and money. If this is how you’re treating people prior to arriving, I can’t imagine how horrible the service at the hotel is. Red flags everywhere. Stay away. 🚩 🚩 🚩

First of all I’ll like to start off with saying this is a terrible experience I do not recommend and this is why 1. The food is nasty 2. No good room service 3. Terrible wifi 4. Can’t clean for nothing 5. Can’t fix the air conditioner 6. Bathroom floods 7. waited a whole hour to get drinks 8. Fan stopped working for now reason 9. The sheets were dirty. Don’t waist your money!

We stayed 8 days and 7 nights All inclusive... With our VIP membership we just had to pay for plane tickets. It was an amazing experience.

Resort is s as nice size - not small but so big that it’s a problem to get around. The walking paths are nice especially by the beach side where it’s like a jungle/garden. The restaurants are in good shape and the food is pretty good. The pools are nice but could use a liner restoration. Apparently this was scheduled to happen in a couple weeks so it might be good after this. The staff were all great. No issues with service. The sun club upgrade is easily worth it, if for nothing else than the room and view from your balcony. The beach is pretty good but can get dirty and filled with debris after a storm or even a heavy rain, as the river outlet is just down the beach a couple km.

Stayed here for one week as part of an Air Canada Vacations package and loved it. We were highly skeptical of booking another all-inclusive because of a terrible time in Cuba with sunwing and this was such a positive experience. The staff were friendly, the grounds were always clean, the food was standard fare but good! Will definitely look forward to coming back here again.

Just came back from a family vacation (10 people including 3 children) and I would return to this resort. The grounds and rooms were clean, the food was tasty and the staff were friendly. Jairo (the water aerobics instructor) was awesome! He always had at least 25 people in the pool working out! I have a few recommendations. The service in the buffet dining room and the Argentinian restaurant was extremely slow. Our plates were rarely picked up and half of the time we would have to go up to the bar to get our own drink (including water). The resort should purchase more high chairs. Most days we waited 15 minutes to get one in the buffet area. It’s difficult to eat with an 18 month old on your lap! All in all it was a good trip and we would return!

Thoroughly enjoyed Sunscape! The rooms were very spacious and very well kept. The restaurants were a good blend and excellent quality, included Japanese, Argentinian and Italian. Buffet was terrific with a rotating theme which made it very good variety. Beach was outstanding and overall the family had a tremendous time!
