On an island just south of downtown with an outdoor pool and great water views the Westin Tampa Waterside feels secluded yet is close to all of the city's most popular destinations. The 12-story hotel with a lovely terra cotta façade has the feel of a resort. The palm-shaded outdoor pool with its own views of the harbor has crisp umbrellas that call to mind a Caribbean destination. Even the fitness room stocked with cardio machines overlooks the water. The chic lobby with its low-slung furnishings and rich wood accents makes you want to linger over quiet conversation. The 299 non-smoking rooms have some stunning views especially those that gaze west toward the sunset. Beds are extra-soft as you'd expect from the Westin and are covered in luxe linens. Flat-panel TVs with instant-access movies are there when you want to kick back and Wi-Fi connections let you brag about your accommodations to the folks back home.
