A comida é excelente, com destaque para a comida mexicana com vista para a ilha e os tubarões bebês que gostam de nadar em volta e os Teppanyaki com o chef Justin que nos preparou um jantar incrível! A villa da água foi incrível! Tartarugas, tubarões e muitos peixes estão nos arredores ... vale muito a pena! Bem vindo de volta :)

¡La mejor experiencia que hemos tenido hasta ahora! ¡Todo, desde la llegada hasta la partida, fue perfecto! El registro se realiza sin problemas directamente en la habitación después de la llegada. La comida es excelente, mención especial para la comida mexicana con vista a la isla y los tiburones bebés a los que les gusta nadar alrededor y el Teppanyaki con el chef Justin quien nos preparó una cena increíble! ¡La villa de agua fue increíble! Tortugas, tiburones y una gran cantidad de peces están en los alrededores ... ¡realmente vale la pena! Bienvenido de nuevo :)

A dreamy experience immersed in comfortably beautiful luxury. They accommodated every possible request to make our honeymoon special. Their complementary honeymoon package has a beautiful beach dinner with a dedicated staff personnel. The couple spa etc. - the other inclusions were equally amazing. From welcome, to departure, to all the surprises, it was a lovely time. Hospitality was impeccable, with a good number of staff members, service for every request was satisfying and prompt. A TOTAL BLISS!

The best experience we had so far! Everything from the arrival to the departure was perfect! The check in is made really smoothly directly in the room after arrival. The food is excellent, special mention for the Mexican food with view of the island and the baby sharks who likes to swim around it and the Teppanyaki with the chef Justin who made us an incredible dinner! The water villa was amazing! Turtles, sharks and load of fishes are in the surrounding… it’s really worth it! We’ll come back :)

Discover One of the Most Colourful and Lively Reefs in the Maldives at Kandolhu Maldives

Meu marido e eu fugimos para as Maldivas e escolhemos Kandholhu como o lugar onde queríamos ter nossa cerimônia de troca de votos. Marc e Laura (e toda a sua equipe) foram anfitriões fantásticos e tornaram todo o processo de planejamento agradável e perfeito meses antes de nossa chegada. Assim que chegamos, a ilha e as instalações eram melhores do que poderíamos ter imaginado. Fomos recebidos no cais de chegada por Marc e Laura e levados para a nossa villa. A ilha estava impecável e os hóspedes andam descalços por toda parte. As vilas eram extremamente luxuosas (nós ficamos na villa duplex na praia e depois na villa da piscina do oceano), limpas e confortáveis. O bar do quarto estava abastecido com uma seleção selecionada de petiscos gourmet, vinhos e licores (muitos dos quais não estão disponíveis no Canadá, onde eu moro, por isso foi ótimo descobri-los!) E fomos recebidos com champanhe e chocolates artesanais no nosso quarto. Como a ilha tem apenas um punhado de vilas, nos sentimos como se estivéssemos em uma ilha particular e todas as nossas necessidades individuais foram atendidas de forma discreta. A equipe conhecia cada hóspede pelo nome e criava horários de serviço de quarto sob medida com base na observação (ou seja, nunca fomos acordados por uma batida no serviço de quarto pela manhã, uma vez que a equipe viu que saímos para ir ao restaurante ou à praia , eles iriam arrumar nossos quartos. Nós deixamos nossa villa em horários diferentes a cada dia, nunca nos sentindo apressados, e magicamente voltamos para um quarto limpo com um bar reabastecido). Nossa cerimônia de troca de votos foi linda e os arranjos florais foram entregues de barco na manhã de nossa cerimônia. Marc e Laura providenciaram a presença de um fotógrafo e maquiador no dia da cerimônia e eu realmente gostei de como eles planejaram tudo para que eu pudesse apenas sentar e aproveitar o dia. Eles até criaram um bolo de casamento feito de ganache de chocolate e cerejas que foi o melhor bolo que já comi. Geralmente, a comida e as bebidas eram além de incrível. Já viajei ao redor do mundo para as principais cidades gastronômicas (Nova York, Hong Kong, Paris, Roma, Londres etc.) e comi em muitos restaurantes excelentes, e posso dizer que a comida em Kandholhu é excepcional. Há uma boa variedade de opções de bebidas e alimentos no cardápio, mas isso não prejudica a qualidade de cada item. Tudo era fresco e feito com cuidado com ingredientes de alta qualidade. Apesar do tamanho pequeno da ilha, há muitas atividades e bons passeios para realizar. Durante meu tempo lá, Marc e Laura ofereceram um jantar à luz de velas com comida e vinho na praia com sommeliers convidados. O cardápio de degustação foi delicioso e extremamente criativo (uma das entradas foi um foie gras glaceado e feito de maçã). Há mais coisas boas a dizer do que eu posso encaixar nesta revisão. Termino dizendo que a minha visita a Kandholhu foi em julho de 2019 (esta avaliação está muito atrasada) e ainda sonho em voltar quase que diariamente ... obrigado Marc, Laura e toda a sua equipa!

My husband and I eloped to the Maldives and we chose Kandholhu as the place where we wanted to have our exchange of vows ceremony. Marc and Laura (and their entire team) were fantastic hosts and made the entire planning process enjoyable and seamless months before our arrival. Once we arrived, the island and facilities were better than we could have imagined. We were greeted at the arrival pier by Marc and Laura and taken to our villa. The island was spotless and guests walk barefoot everywhere. The villas were extremely luxurious (we stayed in the beach duplex villa and then the ocean pool villa), clean and comfortable. The in-room bar was stocked with a curated selection of gourmet snacks, wines and liquors (many of which are not available in Canada, where I live, so it was great to discover these!) and we were greeted with champagne and handmade chocolates in our room. Because the island has only a handful of villas, we felt like we were on a private island and all of our individual needs were catered to in a discreet way. The staff knew each guest by name and would create bespoke room service schedules based on observation (i.e. we were never woken up by a room service knock in the morning, once staff saw that we left for the day to go to the restaurant or the beach, they would go make up our rooms. We left our villa at different times each day, never feeling rushed, and magically returned to a clean room with a restocked bar). Our exchange of vows ceremony was beautiful and floral arrangements were delivered by boat the morning of our ceremony. Marc and Laura arranged for a photographer and makeup artist to attend on the day of the ceremony and I really appreciated how they planned everything so I could just sit back and enjoy the day. They even created a wedding cake made of chocolate ganache and cherries that was the best cake I have ever eaten. Generally, the food and drinks were beyond amazing. I have travelled around the world to top food cities (New York, Hong Kong, Paris, Rome, London etc.) and eaten at many great restaurants, and I can say that the food at Kandholhu is exceptional. There is a good variety of drinks and food options on the menu, but this does not detract from the quality of each item. Everything was fresh and made with care using high quality ingredients. Despite the small size of the island, there are a lot of activities and good excursions to go on. During my time there, Marc and Laura hosted a candlelit food and wine pairing dinner on the beach featuring guest sommeliers. The tasting menu was delicious and extremely creative (one of the starters was a foie gras that was glazed and made to look like an apple). There are more good things to say than I can fit in this review. I will finish by saying that my visit to Kandholhu was in July 2019 (this review is long overdue) and I still dream of returning almost daily...thank you Marc, Laura and your entire team!

Kandolhu exceeded all expectations and was one of the best vacations we have ever been on.The island was even better than anything you see in the movies or on TV.This was our first trip to the Maldives and its a bit daunting to pick an island you want to stay on....after sifting through reviews and various forums we decided to visit Kandolhu and for 7 days.Our criteria: - smaller more private island - great house reef / snorkeling - ability to swim with Manta Rays and Whale SharksThe Island:What can I say that hasn't been said in the other reviews, the island is beautiful!Its small and you can walk from one side to the other in 5 minutes.The landscaping is excellent and everything on the island is well maintained.Room:We stayed in the overwater villa with a pool.It has an amazing view of the ocean and sunset....the room was in excellent condition and amazes you every time you go back to it. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of towels and toiletries. The best part is walking on the dock to the room and looking down at the water to see all kinds of fish....you will even see reef sharks and turtles swimming by. There is an entrance right to the water so you can snorkel around the villas or go to the channel to get to the reef.Food:The food was delicious and lots of variety.We love seafood and all the dishes were freshly prepared.We opted for the ultimate meal plan(includes all meals and drinks)as we loved the wine and smoothies!There are 5 restaurants which 2 of the 5 are open for lunch and 4 of the 5 for dinner. We found ourselves at the Sea Grill most nights as they would have fresh fish(caught that day) to be grilled or baked.SnorkelingTo start off we have snorkeled in Belize, Hawaii, Thailand, Bunaken (Indonesia) and other places in the Caribbean and the Maldives has been the best place out of all of them. Snorkeling was the absolute best part of the vacation for us.The house reef was full of fish and the eco system looked extremely healthy.Lots of soft coral and coral recovering from the storms a few years ago. The variety of fish was unlike any other place we have visited. Every time we went snorkeling we would see black and white tip reef sharks of various sizes, hawksbill sea turtles, clownfish, and many more.Excursions:We went on almost all the excursions the island has to offer.All of them exceeded expectations! - Snorkeling excursions: We were taking to reefs nearby the island and all the places were full of sea life!Our guide was excellent and took amazing video of the sea life and us snorkeling! - Sunset Cruise: We went out on the boat and had some Champagne while the crew took our pictures with the sunset.It was beautiful....we even saw a bunch of sharks swimming near the boat on the way back. - Swimming with Manta Rays: We were lucky and able to swim with Manta Rays and they would swim right by us...this was an amazing experience and something we will never forget! - Swimming with Whale Sharks: Another amazing once in a lifetime experience.We were able to spot a whale shark and jump in and have it swim right by us!StaffWhat more can I say....the staff was beyond outstanding!Extremely friendly and helpful for anything you need!The level of service could not be better! A special shoutout to our excursions guide and team as we were able to spot Manta Rays and a Whale shark and capture videos and photos that will last forever!Covid:Kandolhu felt extremely safe and clean while we stayed there.The island was following all the protocols to ensure a safe environment (masks, sanitizer, etc)There are 2 new requirements due to Covid: - RT PCR test(bring printed copy) that is done 72/96 hours before your departure to the Maldives (nasal swab, not the rapid test) - Health declaration form to be filled out online 24 hours before arrival in MaleWe also needed a printed copy of our receipt for our stay in Kandolhu

We had the most spectacular stay here for our Honeymoon. The service was entirely faultless, the accommodation was wonderful and the island is absolute paradise. Despite its small size, we could have stayed here a month and never been bored. The food is truly a highlight. Delightful ceviche at lunch time and Michael's creations for the set meal in the Olive absolute favs! Michelin star quality! We swam with turtles everyday and the snorkelling was fantastic. The small touches make such a difference and create an environment where you feel entirely at home and relaxed...writing this makes me wish I was back there now! Special mention to Mae for being a marvellous guest relations team member and constantly going above and beyond and to Pam in the Spa who fixed my back with two Thai massages that I've struggled for years with and am now walking like a normal human again. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE, THANK YOU SO MUCH AND CANT WAIT TO BE BACK X

There is a reason why this place gets the most wonderful reviews. It's all True!! The island really is that lovely, it really is that small and intimate, they really do have the best staff, the food is superb. As I said, IT'S ALL TRUE! We spent a very long time working out which of the many islands we wanted for our honeymoon and after collating our "must haves" list of what we wanted we found this little gem. Mark and Laura (managers) are two very special people. Kandolhu Island is lucky to have them at them helm. They really have got the right idea. Lovely wines, incredible food and truly 5 star customer service from everyone. Special thanks to Estella in Market Restaurant she was a really delight to see every lunch and dinner time. A truly delightful member of the team. We were in room 112 which was so lovely, our daily view of the sunset was just spectacular. The room was beautiful, fabulous mini bar and wine fridge and the go pro and iPad was a superb touch. The island and reef is so pretty. This was our first visit to the Maldives and we were truly spoilt by Kandolhu. We will certainly be retuning. Thank you for making our honeymoon so special.

Muy buen hotel, pero aspectos mejorables. Es un hotel de calidad en una isla preciosa, pero en relación calidad precio debe mejorar una cantidad de aspectos importante.Los empleados son amables y serviciales, pero tienen que ser conscientes de que están en un hotel de lujo, deberían cuidar más los detalles.El mantenimiento de las habitaciones también deja que desear en algunos aspectos. El Todo Incluído sin duda merece la pena y las comidas son excelentes.Un gran error que cometen es la estancia de espera en el aeropuerto de Maldivas para coger el hidroavión, mientras que otros hoteles del mismo precio tienen zonas lounge a la altura del nivel este hotel NO las tiene, y a la vuelta cuando dejas el hotel ni siquiera la tiene incluida.El coral es precioso y como no hemos visto otros de Maldivas no puedo compararlo.Ojo con las habitaciones que no tienen piscina, porque el hotel no tiene piscina común.No volveríamos a menos que mejorasen estos aspectos ya que por el mismo precio se pueden encontrar cosas mejores.
