Es un gran hotel, desde mi visita al caracol, quedé fascinado con la cadena. Las comidas son muy buenas y tiene 7 restaurantes diferentes, para todos los gustos. Las instalaciones tienen todo lo que necesitas para una buena estadía. Hay mucho extranjero (que no son de Mexico) pero el ambiente es muy bueno. Aquí la playa está muy bonita. En esta visita no me estuvieron presionando para que les comprara algo. No recomiendo con bebé menores a 2 años, porque los trayectos son largos. El hotel cuenta con una cafetería con café y postres. Cada noche hay un espectáculo diferente.

I have a really hard time writing this review because to be honest I am pretty torn… The staff at the resort are very friendly, everything was very family oriented so I really appreciated that, however the rooms are very outdated and rundown, room service was almost impossible to get a hold of, and you are about a mile away from the beach when you are in the family rooms. We did enjoy having a pool right outside of our room with drinks most of the day but didn’t like the fact the pool closes at 7, seems super early, my kids would have loved to swim at night. Food was extremely hard to find unless you were at the designated buffet times or had a reservation at the restaurants. Shows were fun in the evening and we did enjoy the beach and the pool by it. Again, super torn with this review because there were a lot of pros but definitely a lot of cons as well. We have never stayed at a Mexican resort so I don’t have much to compare to but I’ve stayed in cheap hotels that were nicer than this resort. Overall not a terrible experience but we had some very frustrating aspects of it.

I cannot say enough great things about this resort! We were a group of 14 and we ALL loved the resort and everything it had to offer! The food and different options were awesome. We had no issues getting tables at all the different restaurants and no reservations were needed. We had a smaller kids area close to our room but we also had the option of a bigger area by the beach. The trolley that drives around was awesome and would often stop and offer to pick us up if we were walking with the kids. The resort is absolutely beautiful with vegetation and the walk to the beach and other restaurants was quite lovely. The shows at night were really well done and very entertaining! Staff at the resort was always so pleasant and helpful! (Special mention to Alan the trolley driver with the rubber chicken) The resort is in a great location! It is located within a gated community with a couple other resorts on the same street. A Starbucks and small market are located a 5 minute walk (or bike ride) from the resort. 5th avenue is about a 25 minute walk and has a mall, as well as a local market.

Una pena que haya decaído tanto. Venimos casi todos los años, y este año hemos notado que ha bajado mucho la calidad del servicio en general (ellos se excusan en la pandemia pra justificar todas las falencias). Considerando que somos socios y tenemos muchos beneficios, porque los que no son socios realmente la deben pasar mal. La bebida ha decaído horrores sobre todo la del sector playa. Son brebajes diluidos y hechos sin ningún conocimiento. La calidad de la comida deja mucho que desear y hay muchas cosas básicas que no hay en el buffet como por ejemplo tomates cherrys, frutos secos, los quesos y fiambres son muy acotados, no hay un huevo duro para hacer una ensalada, es un milagro si conseguis una papa frita porque ponen una sola fuente pequeña para todo el hotel! El personal en su 95% es nuevo y no está capacitado, esto se traduce en servicios lentos y clientes desconformes. Ya hicimos nuestros comentarios con los supervisores correspondientes quienes repiten lo de la pandemia lo cual justifica algunas cosas pero la mayoría no tiene justificación. Volvemos simplemente porque nuestros hijos la pasan muy bien con amistades que han forjado aquí durante los años de veraneo y, con la esperanza que vuelva a ser el Sandos de antes!

Nos tocó clima frío y el hotel no está preparado para eso, Las albercas son heladas, no hay animación como en los demás hoteles, el show nocturno siempre es al descubierto y si llueve (nos tocaron días lluviosos) se cancela, en la habitación estuvimos dos dias hasta que repararon las cosas reportadas y no arreglaron todas. De echo cuando lo volví a reportar me dijeron que el reporte ya aparecía en pantalla, que espere.El club de niños no tiene juegos adentro, da lástima y su alberquita helada también. La chica de la tarde es muy linda y habla varios idiomas. Está cerrado de 1 a 3. La Encargada Mirna del restaurante gaucho, fue la que realmente nos hizo la diferencia, fue amable y nos ayudó con varias cosas, excelente atención, inmejorable. Sin embargo el encargado del festival (buffette de la noche) es desastroso, grosero e incomoda a la gente. La gente que trabaja en la cocina del festival es lindisima, extremadamente amable y la comida en ambos restaurantes es rica. De los dos camioncitos uno se rompió por lo que la única opción para ir a la playa es caminar 30 minutos o esperar 25 minutos al camióncito qué hay. El joven de la tarde del camioncito es muy simpático y amable. El desayuno a la habitación no tiene opciones para comer más que panes dulces minis y cereales (desayuno continental) los fines de semana la única opción es hacer 30-40 minutos de fila para entrar al restaurante. Te toman la orden y te la envían mal siempre me tardaron 55 minutos en entregar. Una vez me mandaron los cubiertos y no me mandaron la comida. “Ridiculo”. El parque acuático de la playa les encantó a mis hijos. El cenote está cerrado siempre. Siempre hay cubrebocas a nuestra disposición por si a alguien se le pierde el suyo. mucha comida no trae carteles por lo que nunca se sabe de qué son las mermeladas por ejemplo y demás.

1.- El hotel y sus instalaciones son increíbles, es enorme, hay muchísima vegetación y fauna silvestre protegida. 2.- Los restaurantes que pudimos conocer fueron realmente buenos, la comida muy rica y excelente atención. 3.- La playa del hotel es muy bonita, está bien organizada y cuidada. 4.- A mi parecer faltan actividades recreativas (animadores), el hotel cuenta con shows nocturnos que son tributos a diferentes artistas, bastante buenos y amenos. 5.- En general fue una gran experiencia en todos los sentidos, superó mis expectativas y sin duda volvería a hospedarme en Sandos Playacar.

Muy bueno todo. El hotel es grande, con gran variedad de actividades y restaurantes. La atención en general es muy buena, con una especial mención a Marcela y Enrique del restaurante Gourmex que nos prepararon un agasajo de cumpleaños y nos hicieron pasar una noche hermosa! . La playa del hotel es hermosa! Muy recomendable! Ideal para toda la familia ❤️🇲🇽

Where to begin!!!!If your not a walker, do not book here- there are long walks as the grounds are massive.Also, there are different levels of all inclusive- make sure before you book!I would have done it differently had I known, with that said- nice grounds, beautiful beach and adequate food.Book all your restaurants the day you get there or your options will diminish rapidly.

Nice facilities and friendly staff. Close to town with shopping and restaurants. Food was good and the live entertainment every night was well done and fun. Our adults only section of the beach was spacious with comfortable lounge chairs and palm trees. Lots of activities to sign up for (extra cost). This part of Cancun is beautiful with lots of shells to find but the waves can get big. That can be fun though.

Fue maravilloso para luna de miel, nos dieron una mejor habitación y el hotel es muy limpio y hermoso, grande, muy lindo para relax. La comida increíble, de muchos lugares y muy bien hecha... el restaurante italiano es el mejor! La gente de ahí te trata muy bien y es muy amable, la playa siempre está limpia de algas. Como puntos en contra: el alcohol es de muuuy mala calidad, casi nada era delicioso y los mejores vinos no estaban incluidos, el restaurante asiático lo más desastroso, nos dieron el plato antes que las entradas porque habían problemas en la cocina y el sushi estaba viejo. De todos modos lo recomiendo, muy lindo !

Le doy 5 estrellas por la playa, la verdad que la parte donde está el hotel es muy buena .hotel familiar ,con muchos argentinos en él. La comida es buena , ay parrilla con cortes argentinos muy ricos . Es un hotel grande ,a tener paciencia para algunas cosas como viajar a la playa pero si bancas la caminata esta lindo, con árboles y algunos animales para ver. La habitación muy limpia,cómoda y linda. Con 2 yacuzzi uno en el balcón y otro enla habitación dentro de la misma. No son insistentes con la venta del tiempo compartido . Gracias por todo Sandos .

Hay algo que no me gustó, al segundo día de llegar nos ofrecieron conocer el hotel, darnos un paseo por el mismo en carrito, y regalos Los regalos eran 4 playeras que si nos dieron, el paseo nada, pero el fondo de la cortesía era intentar vendernos paquetes de puntos para después veranear en diferentes Sandos o otros Hoteles, en resumen pagar vacaciones por adelantado según ellos a mucho menor costo, y la verdad que resultan bastante pesados. Debo aclarar que es lo " único" en contra todo lo demás es excelente

I thought Sandos Playacar was excellent. We had a family reunion of 12 there. The beach is wonderful and swimmable, and there were plenty of restaurants to choose from.The only two recommendations I have is to change the music that is played during the day to Latin music rather than American pop or house music. When you go to the DR or Jamaica, you hear music from those countries and it adds to the ambiance.Also sometimes the hot water for showers was unpredictable. But overall, we had a great experience. We especially enjoyed the service from the host Luis at the beach restaurant.

What an amazing place for families to escape the winter blues!!The staff at the El Gaucho for breakfast and poolside lunch were beyond amazing from our first breakfast the staff remembered my daughter and her allergy.They checked with the chef to ensure she would avoid any food item with nuts and that was the best part for me.The room was spacious enough for the four of us, although the pull out bed did not come made and repeated attempts to get sheets for it we were still comfortable. The biggest issue with resort vacationing is the accessibility to a good meal.All of the restaurants were booked with reservations our entire 5 day stay which means we had to eat at the buffet which is something we do not do at home and it left us with few options for dinner after being put all day doing excursions.The overall Sandos experience was good and I am interested in visiting other hotels on the Playacar resort.

If you are just a regular “blue wrist band” guest it’s second class treatment here. Upgrade to their timeshare “club” and the service looks better and it may even become 3+* Food was plentiful, varied, but not very high standards, even in the specialist restaurants. We did Brazil, Argentina and Italy. Service is hit and miss. At one buffet serving it was all we could do to get the table cleaned that we were escorted to, from the previous guest. Even then it was wiped with dry paper. We wouldn’t sit down until it was properly sanitized. If you have kids, expect to walk a lot, you are at the furthest end of the resort from the beach and large pool area. There is a kids pool and swim up bar at the kids end but don’t expect to get lunch there - that requires a long walk down to the buffet. If you make it down to the beach, expect to see many hotel “pay for” services offered, such as activities, tours and spa treatments, as the reps tour the beach. It’s a shame that the “included” all inclusive things such as drinks are not offered at the beach. So if you want a drink - there is no wait service. Really can’t say I’d recommended this resort to friends and certainly no wish to return.

O restaurante Francês é o melhor do hotel! A comida estava muito boa, sem gosto dos temperos do méxico rsrs e os garçons eram muito atenciosos!!! Os outros restaurantes deixam um pouco a desejar, mas atendem as expectativas de um “all inclusive”.

Reutilizam copos plásticos e lavam mal. É nojento. Recepção lenta. Entrega das malas lenta. Quarto com cheiro de cigarro. Enxoval banheiro incompleto. Quarto com areia. Limpeza em geral péssima. Atendimento ruim. Passeios escuros, sem iluminação adequada. Não tem serviço de praia. Não é possível comer na área próxima da piscina. Não tem garçons circulantes na área das piscinas/praia. Tudo que é bebida é servido em copos laváveis de plástico. Não vendem água em garrafa.

O gerente veio no quarto e disse que era minha percepção de odor de urina mas era umidade porque eu não deixei o ar condicionado ligado o tempo todo . Estava fresco no quarto e não tinha sinal de umidadeno piso, nem nos vidros e paredes. Também não percebi cheiro nas camas e travesseiros. Ontem, quando vieram no quarto e trocaram a poltrona e os assentos do sofá, ninguém conversou comigo sobre isso. Enfim, concordei que retirassem os móveis mas não gostei de como lidaram com essa situação. Por que estava desconfortável com o odor.

Estruturas carentes de manutenção. Uniformes profissionais desgastados. Recepção horrívelmente lenta tanto no check-in quanto no check-out. Reutilização de copos plásticos com péssima higienização, nos bares das piscinas. Enxoval incompleto nos banheiros. Muitas piscinas pouca limpeza. Serviço de praia quase inexistente. Reduzidas opções de refeições nos quartos. Serviço de Câmbio deixa a desejar.

Estivemos hoje apreciando o restaurante italiano:IL Piemonte. O cardápio é super completo, muito bem servido.Todos os pratos que escolhemos estavam deliciosos. Um destaque especial para o atendimento, que foi diferenciado da recepção até a partida. Ambiente muito aconchegante.

Ótimo resort, com muitas opções de entretenimento. Planejei e executei meu casamento no local, e com certeza eu e minha noiva fizemos uma bela escolha. O pessoal do hotel é muito atencioso, atendendo e excedendo todas as nossas expectativas. É muito extenso, e com certeza não faltarão opções de divertimento, caso vc escolha ficar, pelo menos, 5 dias aqui. Super recomendado, e com certeza eu voltaria.

This was our second visit to this resort. Our first trip was really nice. The adult section was located in the back of the resort and was truly adult only. That section did have a swim up bar. We had several choices of restaurants and getting seated was never a problem. This return trip, We spent 9 days at Playacar and were extremely disappointed in our trip. We booked a king bed in the adult only section 14 months before we traveled. Upon arrival we were given a room with two queen beds. (strike one)When we replied that to be unacceptable, they stepped away from the check in counter for several minutes and came back with a king size room with no balcony/patio. This too unacceptable. So we ended up in a king size room with a balcony/patio. Room was small, had no water pressure and no hot water. Luke warm as good as it got. (strike two). The resort has 6 restaurants and one buffet. To our surprise, there was only one restaurant open every day so if you didn't have a reservation for the restaurant of the day, which were practically impossible to get, you ate the buffet, which is much like the golden corral. (strike 3) We ate in a restaurant 4 times (one by showing up and waiting for them to work us in). The rest of our meals came from the buffet(dinner ,lunch, and breakfast). There was no beach service. The adult area consisted of a pool full of kids. So much for the "Adult only" (strike 4)...And the restaurants..screaming children during dinner..We went to 4 different bars over the period of 9 days. The bar on the beach was the best but was only open till 6. (Carlos is a great bartender.) One of the bars didn't have all the ingredients required to make a mudslide, one had a terrible bartender that obviously didn't care what his cocktails tasted like and we were refused service from the avenue bar because we wouldn't buy into to their "New Plan". (strike 5) We still have vacation days left with Sandos. We certainly don't need 210 more. We will not return to this facility and would not recommend it for vacationers wanting an adult only experience.

This was perhaps my favorite restaurant to eat at while in Sandos Playacar Beach Resort. The Asian cousine was excellent and I was extremely impressed in the good service we received. My favorite thing that I ate was the fried ice cream for dessert. It melted so well over the other dessert options that we were served. Here, you can expect to eat high quality food.

The best place for breakfast is the adults only beach side buffet. The food is really good and the staff extremely helpful. Yesterday I was doing a scuba diving lesson in the pool that ran a bit late and I probably wasn’t going to be able to go back to my room to get changed before they shut so Mirna asked me what I wanted to eat and when I got back my food was ready on my table. This is really excellent service and goes far beyond what you could expect.

The biggest problem this resort has is the quality/freshness of the food. Everything else is fine. When you are staying in all inclusive, you don't want to go the city just to have something to eat. Some of their food is overcooked, some seems to be sitting for a day or two. When you go to the resort you don't want to work as a food taster until you find something good on that day, you just want to have nice food and enjoy your vacation...

I never write reviews but this visit requires a huge compliment to Frey at the front desk. We had a huge issue the company we went through for reservations. Frey was understanding, kind and efficient in fixing our issue. All week when he sees one of our group which is five of us. He says hello and checks to make sure we are happy. One of our travelers had a broken foot he set us up with a motorized wheel chair. If we need special transportation. Frey arranged it. My family felt very special. We are Royal Elite for ten years now. We have traveled enough to see that Frey was going above and beyond for us. I highly recommend this young man for his work ethic and good nature. Hats off to you sir. Sandos is very lucky to have you as an employee.

My husband and I just returned from a two week stay. Jose and Minerva from the Avenue Bar could not have possibly made our stay any more enjoyable. Friendly & warm greetings each day with big smiles. They treated us like family. Such hard workers with huge hearts!!! Can’t wait to see them next year!!! Sandos Playacar has had many changes, and we truly have no complaints about any of them. We stayed in the adults only section in building two. Elena kept our room spic & span throughout our stay. We hung out in the Royal Elite beach section nearly every day and enjoyed it to the fullest!! Every single employee we encountered was pleasant and kind, from reception personnel to the landscape attendants. This was our eighth year at Playacar and we’ll definitely be returning for a ninth!!!!

The service in the avenue bar for the 7 years that we have been coming has been amazing. Jose Armando has a fabulous personality and memory of his guests. His friendliness is So appreciated. We always look forward to seeing him behind the bar. His attention to all the patrons is meticulous and fast! He’s patient with us just learning Spanish and tries to teach us. It’s always fun to be here...
