Arrived late afternoon on a Friday and couldn't check out fast enough on Saturday at 6:30am! The room was very basic and unimpressive. The bathroom wasn't properly cleaned and had hairs all over; the edges & corners of the floor weren't even cleaned (for a long time, it appeared); they provide NO washcloths/face cloths, and one can only surmise that they left all the mold in the shower to hold the tiles together! There's not enough light in the room -- anywhere! It's miserable trying to see to put on makeup with no light! But this wasn't the worst part. We had NO AC when we went to bed! I wondered if the AC is motion-activated...???? It was impossible to sleep in the hot, musty, stagnant room! This is NOT a pleasant place to stay. BUT, I must be honest and say that the staff here is exceptionally nice and kind. Carlos, the bellman, was awesome; the women at registration were very nice; and in fact, every person we came in contact with was extremely pleasant and welcoming. So, the people are great but the rooms are underwhelming and disappointing.

So at all costs, just avoid this property. Very dated rooms. No hot water. A/C works only sometimes. Beds are not comfortable. Was literally held hostage at checkout for disputing charges that were not mine (and forced to pay before I could exit security). Staff was not friendly. Management incompetent. Whoever is in charge should be embarrassed and ashamed. Or they just don’t care because somehow they are loosely affiliated with Radisson.

I just left this hotel and stayed 4 nights there. I rented one of the smaller rooms because I was alone. It was a lovely room. The only thing is a few times the water in the shower was only Luke warm. Overall it’s a beautiful, older hotel with a gym, pool, live band and animals. There’s a live Caribbean band that plays both in the day and night. The pool is beautiful. I had the breakfast buffet a few times. It was overpriced but decent. The staff was very friendly and you can see that they enjoy their job. Just two complaints: the quasi warm shower and the jacuzzi in the spa wasn’t hot. It was also quasi warm. I’m still giving this hotel 5 stars for the older beauty, friendly staff, nice pool and animals. I’ve read other comments that the rooms aren’t nice. My room was very nice. Maybe the rooms have been renovated since those comments from other people because there was nothing wrong with my room.

A very lovely hotel, very clean and the staff was very attentive also. The complimentary breakfast was delicious includingcook 2 order omelets and arapeas. They even had a full coffee bar with parton xo and freshly made green juice Great location to the wall, ocean and other tourist attractions

Just awful. First of all the breakfast is terrible and not worth paying for - go to a cafe in the old town or a restaurant nearby. All they have are some soggy scrambled eggs, some sausages and fruit. Probably the worst breakfast I've seen anywhere and as a Travel Writer I travel pretty much constantly. They were always out of juice or cups or there were empty trays. Really poor selection and badly organised, even if the hotel is busy. They only have American filter coffee for breakfast and you have to flag down one of the waitresses to ask for it as they don't come and take your order then they act like being asked anything is a big deal. The breakfast room isn't really big enough for the amount of rooms/guests. WORST of all, on my final night I had to get up at 6 am to go to the airport. At 11.30, a group of loud people in the next room were shouting, yelling and blasting out music. I called the reception who told me they would call security. This was clearly a group of people having a party in the room and unaware of any concept of volume control. When the noise got louder and louder, I called the front desk again 30 minutes later and the receptionist said he would send security. Security were never sent and I didn't want to call the front desk a THIRD time as they were not helpful and acted like it was annoying for someone to call with a noise complaint. By this time it was already well past 12.30. It is beyond a joke that groups of people can be so loud, shouting and blasting out music in a hotel at that time of night and the hotel cannot be bothered to do anything. I had an extremely long day of travel the next day, needing to catch two flights and have long transfers between them. I am absolutely furious that I had a sleepless night and the hotel could not be bothered to go and ask the people to be quiet. Appalling. Finally, room service trays were just left outside of rooms for hours on end, sometimes over 24 hours in 30+ degree heat. Various staff members would just walk past them repeatedly and nobody bothered to move them

Hotel Caribe used to be the most luxurious and distinguished hotel in Cgena. Now is a dated hotel which continues to have a poor and antiquated air conditioning system as well as worn out and cheap...
