I checked in after midnight and when I got to the front desk, I waited about 10min before Tara emerged from the back with the worst attitude. It felt as though I interrupted something and she wasn’t pleased to help me…. She actually seemed angry! After giving her me and my husband’s ID and his credit card, she asks him if this was his card. The card had his name on it and she was holding his ID as well. Smh! She wasn’t friendly and her customer service skills were subpar! We finally get to the room and was very disappointed in the quality. I don’t feel like that bathroom was worth the money that we paid. It certainly was not the Marriott quality experience that we are used to. The views were beautiful but the customer service and room quality were atrocious.

Service was great! Rooms are clean. Pillows need help. Bed itself was comfortable. Good location. The breakfast buffet had alot of choices. updated decor in the lobby. The hallway on the 4th floor nees some freshening up as the wallpaper was peeling and some base moulding was missing.

Room was clean but the elevators were filthy. Our outlet in the bathroom needed to be replaced as it wouldn’t hold anything plugged in to it. This was reported to the desk clerk as I’m not sure how they would know otherwise. Breakfast was typical for post COVID. We miss having more options and these pre made Swiss and egg muffins that Marriott is serving are horrible. Just my opinion.

Marriott is usually our go to place aside from Hilton. This hotel "SpringHill Suites by Marriott at Charleston Riverview" was Not a good hotel. This hotel is so subpar from what my family and I expect from Marriott. When you first enter the hotel it looks great, however the stairs we had to take to get to the lobby showed that the carpet more than needed replacing, the rails were wobbly. At the time of our visit the elevators were out of order. The staff told us to use the stairs to our 2nd floor room. The stairwell were not aired, they smelled moldy, stuffy (like no air was coming through) and we could barely breathe. Once again the carpet in the halls need immediate replacement. The room's carpet was so dirty looking, the air conditioner when we turned it on was giving off more musty/moldy smelling air. It looks as if some renovations have taken place (bathroom sink looked new, along with toilet )but the bathtub needed to be replaced. The sofa bed that my child needed to use could not be used because once we opened it, it was full of dust and not smelling clean. Rust was present around the air conditioner unit and the drape had sticky black dead bugs clinging to it. This was the most disappointing stay at a Marriott hotel ever. I would not even give this hotel a 1 star. $200 + a night is so Not worth it. We hightailed it out of there the next morning. The way the hotel was, we could not bring ourselves to try the breakfast. I have to say that the staff was friendly and accomodating. This has nothing to do with the staff but with this hotel needing a thorough remodeling/upkeep/thorough cleaning etc.... The hotel is at a great location. The location is beautiful and I would have love to go back again. However, as it stands, I will not be putting my foot there again. I hope that Marriott headquarters go in person and inspect this hotel and see what is going on. I cannot post this review without giving it a star otherwise this hotel would be star less.

We switched to Springhill after one night at the LaQuinta and it was so nice! The desk staff was accommodating and extremely friendly. Everything was clean and stocked. And it was better priced than other surrounding hotels. The breakfast was better and they kept restocking until breakfast ended at 9 which was great! I used the laundry room which was clean, the machines worked great, and I felt confident leaving the laundry room knowing there was video surveillance. Overall it was a great experience.
