Andaz at Peninsula Papagayo is a beautiful result for a family, couple or solo stay. 3 restaurants to choose from for dinner, multiple pools to relax at, and only a few minutes to the beach. Rooms were nice, employees were friendly, and everything you need to enjoy your vacation was on-site. Ostra restaurant is a must when dining out - highly recommend their sushi, lobster tail or skirt steak! Big shout out to the Manager of Ostra and his staff (my apologies, I lost the piece of paper with your names on them!) Tapas Bar and Drinks - also a must! Ate here 3 times, and the live music was thoroughly enjoyed As a Wedding Planner, I highly recommend this resort for a destination wedding location

Excelente lugar

O resort em si é impressionante e eles foram além dos protocolos COVID, além da limpeza. Nós nos sentimos muito seguros e todo o resort é um conceito muito ao ar livre. Você se sente como se estivesse escondido na costa em uma gigantesca casa na árvore de luxo. Havia macacos pendurados nas árvores e belos pássaros ao redor. As vistas do resort são de tirar o fôlego. A equipe é encantadora e tão flexível para todas as necessidades. Eles até se anteciparam às nossas necessidades e ofereceram acomodações especiais sem que nós pedíssemos! O chef do Ostra preparou um jantar especial para acomodar as restrições alimentares do meu marido e eles ainda nos ofereceram um check-out tardio para acomodar nossa partida de viagem sem custo extra. Eu não posso expressar o suficiente como a equipe é maravilhosa, eles foram tão alegres e hospitaleiros o tempo todo! Este lugar é um pequeno pedaço do céu e encabeçou nossa lista de um dos melhores lugares que já ficamos de férias. Gostaríamos de voltar em um piscar de olhos. Pura Vida!!

The resort itself is stunning and they have gone above and beyond with COVID protocols in addition to cleanliness.We felt very safe and the entire resort is a very open air concept. You feel like you are tucked away on the coast in a giant luxury treehouse.There were monkeys hanging out in the trees and beautiful birds all around.The views from the resort are breathtaking. The staff is delightful and so accommodating to each and every need.They even anticipated our needs and offered special accommodations without us even asking! The chef at Ostra prepared a special dinner in order to accommodate my husband's dietary restrictions and they even offered us a late check out to accommodate our travel departure with no extra charge.I can't express enough how wonderful the staff are, they were just so joyful and hospitable the entire time! This place is a little slice of heaven and topped our list of one the best places we have ever stayed on vacation. We would return in a heartbeat.Pura Vida!!

O curry amarelo com legumes não era bom e eu não recomendaria muito salgado e sem graça. Gostaria que tivéssemos tentado alguns dos outros pratos principais de frutos do mar como eu acho que eles são mais conhecidos por aqueles. Chao Pescao era o restaurante de tapas e era o nosso jantar preferido dos 3. Belo pátio e o clima mais divertido. Alimentos e bebidas muito decepcionantes! Belo resort e serviço amigável, mas o café da manhã era horrível. Ficamos surpresos com a baixa qualidade do almoço e do jantar. Felizmente há um serviço de transporte gratuito para o hotel Four Seasons e acabamos indo lá para todas as nossas refeições.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Andaz resort and will be returning! This is a very detailed review to help others considering staying there: Grounds/Staff: We booked our 3 night stay entirely with World of Hyatt Points so our room was free! We originally booked a standard room, but we were delighted to be upgraded to a Suite due to my "Explorist" status. I thought free suite upgrades were only for "Globalist" status so this was a wonderful surprise. The suite was beautiful with an ocean view,living room, 2 bathrooms, and rollaway beds in addition to the King bed. We loved the rain shower and the separate walk-in closet to stash all our luggage. It was also so fun to be given free snacks, drinks, fedora hats & flipflops. Service was amazing with the room being cleaned daily and snacks and towels restocked.The entire Andaz staff was incredible. Everyone was genuinely kind and friendly and made us feel so welcomed. The main pool and adults only pool were both beautiful. We also hung around the beach a bit but did not try any of the activities down there. The jetskis were a little annoying-I wish they didn’t have those! The one thing we missed out on was checking out the Andaz Beach house. Activities: We booked 2 activities through the resort. One was Mountain Biking with the Papagayo Explorers. Our guide Marlon was amazing! We had so much fun zipping around the trails on high-quality mountain bikes and he carried cold waters for us, took pictures, and was quick to check in and make sure we were staying hydrated in the heat. At the end he had delicious fresh coconuts for us to drink. A hydrating treat! Would definitely bike again there. We were out there for 2 hours and only covered about 10% of the trails. Our other activity was also booked through the resort but in connection with, Mardigi Tours. We booked the Hacienda/ Guachipelin Extreme tour. This consisted of being picked up by a private driver at 7AM, driving 1 hour to the Ricon De La Vieja area and going horseback riding to a water fall, tubing down the Colorado river, zip lining over a river, and then spending time in the hot springs. A fun day with the wild tube ride being the best part!There was also a good lunch included. Our driver was great. He drove us to a spot to point out some crocodiles in the wild as well which was cool. We felt very safe with and cared for and it was nice to have the private ride in these COVID times. Restaurants: There are 3 restaurants on the property and we ate at each of them. They are all very expensive with service fees added on too. Rio Bhongo is the main restaurant which also is the only option for breakfast. We were not super impressed with the dinner-the tuna steak was a bit salty and the shrimp tacos were just okay.The alcoholic drinks and mocktails were fabulous. We did enjoy the daily breakfast with fresh fruit and pastries and I tried a delicious burrito with plantains which I loved. Ostra Restaurant is the fanciest restaurant and is primarily seafood. The ceviche was incredible as were the cocktails. The sushi was just okay for us. The yellow curry with veggies was not good and I would not recommend-very salty and bland. Wish we had tried some of the other main seafood entrees as I think they are more known for those. Chao Pescao was the tapas restaurant and was our favorite dinner of the 3. Beautiful patioand the most fun vibe. We asked them to make us mystery blended mocktails which they did and they were out of this world! The Manager was very friendly and fun. All the small plates were good with the shrimp being our favorite. Overall I found the restaurants good, not great, but I am also a bit of a foodie. Wish the prices were a little more reasonable. All the cocktails and mocktails were amazing. COVID Testing: Andaz does offer testing but it is expensive, so we packed BinaxNOW Ag card home tests and did them within our hotel room. We got results in 15 minutes. Great option for testing.

Very disappointing food and beverages! Beautiful resort and friendly service But breakfast was awful. We were surprised of the low quality of lunch and dinner. Fortunately there is a free shuttle to Four Seasons hotel and we ended up going there for all our meals.

Estamos absolutamente amamos nossa estadia em Andaz. Para começar, o terreno e as vistas são absolutamente deslumbrantes. Para onde quer que você olhe, você está rodeado por belezas naturais. Eu não posso dizer o suficiente sobre como este lugar é bonito. O que é ainda mais legal é a quantidade de vida selvagem que você verá. Passei uma manhã fazendo exercícios assistindo bebês macacos brincando nas árvores.A vista do nosso quarto era incrível. O quarto era elegante e limpo, com um chuveiro frio. Nós achamos a comida em todos os três restaurantes ótima. Apreciei o quanto havia para fazer lá, várias provas de caminhada, diferentes piscinas, praias, ciclovias. Na verdade, gostaríamos de poder ter ficado mais tempo para fazer tudo. Todos os funcionários com os quais entramos em contato foram excepcionais. Eles foram tão simpáticos e acolhedores.Toda a estadia pareceu um retiro, embora não fosse. Andaz faz um ótimo trabalho cercando você com tranquilidade.Se você ficar aqui, certifique-se de passar um dia na casa de praia, esta foi uma das praias mais bonitas que já estive.

We absolutely loved our stay at Andaz. To start, the ground and views are absolutely breathtaking. Everywhere you look, you are surrounded by natural beauty. I can’t say enough about how pretty this place is. What’s even cooler is the amount of wildlife you’ll see, I spent one morning working out watching baby monkeys play in the trees. The view from our room was amazing. The room was sleek and clean with a cool shower. We found the food at all three restaurants to be great. I appreciated how much there was to do there, several walking trials, different pools, beaches, bike paths. We actually wished we could have stayed longer to do it all. Everyone in staff that we came in contact with was exceptional. They were so friendly and accommodating. The entire stay felt like a retreat even though it wasn’t. Andaz does a great job surrounding you with tranquility. If you stay here, make sure to spend a day at the beach house, this was one of the prettiest beaches I’ve ever been to.

Absolutely beautiful hotel if you are a casual Hyatt customer who has achieved the lower 30 night globalist status this year, but as with many Hyatt’s now, don’t expect exceptional treatment if you’re putting in 100 or 200 nights at Hyatt because those days are gone. You will be disappointed. On the other hand if you’re in the former group you’ll probably love it. Food is great and the peninsula has activities that will keep you busy for days

We recently honeymooned at Andaz Costa Rica Resort and had a great experience! The resort is beautiful and the workers there are very hospitable. The restaurants, pools, spa, and schedule of activities that they offer were all of high quality and provided us with a fun, relaxing time.

This is where you want to stay in Costa Rica. Rooms, food, beach, amenities and wildlife were top notch. The staff was awesome. I enjoyed running with Sergio in the mornings and my wife loved the yoga class. We left relaxed and grateful to have had this experience.

Bela localização nas montanhas com vista para a água. O serviço de quarto parece barato, mas de alguma forma totaliza muito mais do que o esperado. O único aspecto negativo é que o check-in leva uma eternidade, e leva alguns minutos extras para descobrir os controles de iluminação e a porta de vidro para o pátio. Chuveiro é incrível, só não se esqueça de fechar a cortina do chão ao teto! Ha!

O hotel e os jardins são excelentes. A equipe faz um excelente trabalho sempre presente, mas nunca intrusiva. Mas o destaque é de longe o programa de bebidas. Coquetéis absolutamente insanos. Facilmente igual a Milk Bar, Aviário, Artesian. A classe de coquetéis que eles oferecem é fenomenal e por si só pode elevar toda a estadia. Obrigado ao Jorge e sua equipe.

Positivo:Las playas del hotel y el Beach house en nacascolo muy linda la playa, la infraestructura muy bonita integrada completamente en la flora y fauna. El servicio es bastante bueno en general, música en vivo, servicio de shuttle que te lleva a playa virador si quieres, la comida es bastante buena. Negativo : la cama no es cómoda es algo dura, los precios de TODO son EXTREMADAMENTE CAROS la comida es super cara, hotel es enfocado es sacarle plata los gringos y si eres turista local alguno que otro mesero no te va hacer buena cara

Beautiful location in mountains overlooking the water. Room service looks inexpensive, but somehow totals much higher than expected. Only negatives are that check in takes forever, and it takes a few extra minutes to figure out the lighting controls and glass door to the patio. Shower is awesome, just don't forget to close the floor to ceiling shade! Ha!

The hotel and grounds are excellent. The staff do an excellent job of always been present but never intrusive. But the highlight is by far the beverage program. Absolutely insane cocktails. Easily on par with Milk Bar, Aviary, Artesian. The cocktail class they offer is phenomenal and it alone can elevate the whole stay. Thank you to Jorge and his team.

Cero privacidad. 1 estrellas a actividades incluidas en la playa. Si hay viento, que hay casi siempre no se puede usar el paddle board o cayacs. No dan otra alternativas gratis. 0 estrellas por los precios. Almuerzos, cenas, bebidas, licores, etc. El precio de todo es ridiculamente caro. Las bebidas pagadas no tienen refill. Una limonada de 8 onzas con hielo vale 5,300 colones. Una coca cola vale 4,500 colones. Es un atraco. La comida es tan cara que tuvimos que saltarnos la cena... a ese nivel tuvimos que llegar y la mayoria de los nacionales que hablamos pensaban igual. El lugar es lujoso y todo pero los precios no deberian ser tan caros, minimo un 50% mas barato. 5 estrellas por la actividad de concierto q tuvimos. Fue bastante bonito e innolvidable. 5 estrellas por la flora y fauna. Vimos bastantes monos e iguanas.El lugar es muy bonito pero los precios de comidas y bebidas hacen que la experiencia sufra bastante.
