Es un hotel de 3 estrellas. El personal se divide entre muy atentos y pedantes en desproporción. La verdad no lo vale. El peor de todos los Riu que fui. Horario 100% pensado para americanos. La cena cierra a las 9! Vas de playa a comer algo y no podes. Osea NO ES TODO INCLUIDO. Entiendo el código de vestimenta pero no que no haya ninguna opción si quiero comer algo a la tarde. Mucho menos que un mozo me sugiera que me queje con la agencia si no me gusta esta bajada de linea.

La verdad que el Hotel es hermoso, la atención es de primera calidad todo el tiempo. Pedimos con tiempo (vía mail) una habitación en primer piso y cuando llegamos nos alojaron en un tercer piso y no nos pidieron re alojar. Es una pena que no se pueda regular la temperatura del aire acondicionado, ronda siempre en los 25 grados y a veces es un poco alta. Hicimos 3 reclamos de mantenimiento y solo nos han solucionado 1 hasta el momento siendo que uno de los que aún no ha sido reparado es una llave de luz que hace cortocircuito cuando se enciende. Demás impecable.

Hotel simples, reservamos quarto para 4 pessoas (2 adultos e 2 crianças) nos deram 1 quarto com “praticamente” 1 cama King… sendo que na reserva constava que eram 2 camas de casal. Pessoal mal treinado. Ninguém sabe passar uma informação precisa. Debochados. Horrível. Pior hotel que já ficamos!

Es un lugar muy bonito, con una atención de maravilla de todo el personal, con mercadería y bebidas de primera línea. Con unas habitaciones explendidas, con una limpieza total. Con respecto al hotel todo lo que puedo decir son cosas lindas., Pero si estoy triste, en mí estadías, porque el mar que yo conocí de Playa del Carmen, hace unos años atrás, para mí era lo mejor del mundo, hoy está lleno de sargazo (acumulamiento de algas que deposita en las costas el mar), y todos dicen que es imposible solucionarlo. Triste para mí, que me gusta el mar, lo demás 10 puntos.

El hotel es muy bonito y confortable. Las habitaciones están muy limpias y amplias. Cuenta con variedad de restaurantes y algunos shows para entretenimiento nocturno. Los bares ofrecen distintas bebidas, incluyendo cócteles y bebidas sin alcohol. El hotel cuenta con pie de playa y albercas :) muy recomendable. Es la tercera vez que me hospedo en un hotel RIU.

If you not drinking enough they have drinks trollies that come to pool side. Staff good Food good Drink options good with no resource issues. Activities all day. Good balance of Nationalities. Restaurant themed! No need to book, go as many times as you like, if busy you get buzzer and they let you know. Beach/pool, warm no complaints. Just a quality holiday all round. Cheers

We stayed here a week ago. The service was perfect. The morning buffet was really nice and the rest of the food was good, but could have been better. My biggest complaint was the smoking. Even though this was a resort where everything was outdoors, they need to have designated smoking areas, especially by the pool and in the bar. People are very inconsiderate and lit up where and when they wanted. In this day and time, many people do not want to be exposed to that. I would choose another resort that has designated or non smoking areas.

Excelente lugar, muy buen servicio, el personal del hotel hace que todo sea genial y la atención es espectacular al igual que el entretenimiento. Gran variedad de bebidas y tragos en los bares. El bufette tiene una oferta muy variada, los restaurantes temáticos están muy bien. Hay que tener mucho cuidado cuando llueve los pisos son muy resbalosos. Volveríamos sin dudar.

Buena relación calidad-precio. El hotel está limpio, comida suficientemente variada y personal muy amable, en especial algunos miembros de la animación (Jesús, Claudia y, sobre todo, Sheyla).No pudimos bañarnos en el mar porque había muchísimo sargazo, por lo que pudimos aprovechar las tres piscinas del hotel. Si fuesen un poco más profundas, habría sido perfecto.Los espectáculos nocturnos, bastante mejorables.

Gente excepcional en concreto Néstor de comedor, Adrián y Rosa del bar de la piscina. Comida repetitiva. Los restaurantes temáticos tardan muchísimo en servirte y la comida no es que sea muy buena. La animación nocturna aburrida salvo la noche de la fiesta de neón. Muchísima limpieza y muy buen trato. Pero para ser un Riu nos ha decepcionado bastante sobre todo por el tema de la comida

This is advertised as a 4.5 star hotel, I will give it3 stars being nice. Is like being on a regular cruise, pools are packed all the time, having always to wait for a drink. The food is not good. It is a eatable buffet but nothing out of the ordinary. Rooms are outdated. They are only 2 restaurants besides de buffet but it is only dinner time. I could not recommend it :/ regular service. They won't go beyond to make your travel experience more enjoyable. For the same amount of money y will chose another hotel

If you like smaller resorts, this one is for you. 4 buildings on one side and 4 on the other of beautiful avenue leading from lobby to pools and beach. Impeccable services in the restaurants and room cleaning. We had no problems with food, rooms (we had 2 rooms), air-conditioning bathrooms, beach . All was good. Beach has plenty of beach chairs and palm trees for shade. No rocks in the beach water except for a couple brought in by storm, we didn't need water shoes and no one had problems getting in and out of ocean. Beach was clean and swept by tractor daily. Bartenders and restaurant waitresses were attentive and with a smile. Overall very enjoyable experience, easy to recommend because all was great.

Fun hotel. Rooms are okay but you have to walk to your room since there is no elevator this got old very quickly. Also rooms have AC but it doesn't really work. The hotel limits the AC to 22 degrees Celsius which is very hot and it only sometimes works in the room never in the bathroom. Other than that the staff is good and the food is pretty good. The mini bar in the room was only stocked once our entire trip.

The hotel is very beautiful! they have different events for kids and adults that perfect for families. Super nice staff, high quality food and beverages. Gorgeous beach and pool, amazing bar! Interesting events for kids! The only thing that I wasn't happy with, was the beach activities. My husband and I rent a Jet Ski and we fell down to the water in the middle of the ocean no body came to rescue us considering they were following us with a drone camera to sell us the video and we felt terrible and disappointed; after 10 minutes, a guy came from other hotel, first, checked the Jet Ski to see if it's ok then he got us. I was literally scared in the middle of ocean when see no body is coming for rescuing us. Except the beach activity, this hotel was great! Highly recommended!

Wonderful staff! Very hard working and pleasant. The food is amazingand obviously fresh. The rooms are well kept along with the pool and beach area. Every night there is a different theme of entertainment to appease children and adults. Entertainers are also very enthusiastic and it shows!

Great location , people are friendly good service. I would stick with the buffet restaurant as we did feel the other restaurants were any better. The liquor in the room is basic low grade so go to the bar for your premium drinks. The activity crew was awesome especially Mauricio who got us involved daily. The shows were pretty good overall. It’s not 5 star but still a great place to relax.

O resort é fantastico, os quartos são bons e muito limpos. Para mim, o pequeno almoço é o jantar são de facto impressionantes, só não apreciei muito o restaurante de almoço e a pouca oferta de lanches. É o que falta neste resort mais lanches e fruta pelas piscinas e mais animação. Os animadores são fantásticos mas é muito pouco tempo deveria ser mais cedo e mais tempo. Em geral são todos muito muito muito simpáticos e acessíveis e vêmos sempre colaboradores a limpar por todo o lado. Aconselho vivamente ❤️

The resort is nice enough, right on the beach and the service and facility was nice.Staff goes out of the way to make sure you have whatever you need.For the price I was happy.I didn't appreciate walking thru town and being swindled by one of the resorts employees, named Alex, who recognized me in the street, and brought into a jewelry store called Mayan Jewelers, and spending over $300 USD on a pair of earrings that turned out to be a plastic stone.

Pongo dos estrellas porque es lo que realmente se merece, una estrella por la playa y otra estrella por la gente de la limpieza. Tratan mejor a los norteamericanos, permitiéndoles ruidos a todas horas. Si llamas quejándote a las 2:00 de la mañana, porque enfrente de tu habitación o por el pasillo hay gente gritando y tomando... desde recepción te dicen que es normal...que el hotel está para disfrutar. La cena 24h es un timo, ayer vinimos de excursión y como llegamos a las 22.15, no nos dejaron acceder y te dicen que te vayas al bar donde disponen de más comida... pues bien, vamos y nos encontramos con 1 Sándwich y 1 hotdog ambos con el pan duro...pedimos explicaciones y nos dicen que ahora traen más cosas, tras 1 hora cuarto nos rendimos y decidimos irnos a la habitación con el estómago vacío. En resumen...si buscas relax, y descansar después de una larga excursión ESTE NO ES TU HOTEL. Si por el contrario buscas emborracharte y gritar a cualquier hora del día en cualquier espacio del hotel y en especial de madrugada ESTE ES TU HOTEL. No volvemos, aunque nos regalen el vuelo con la suite.

Pase un excelente tiempo en mi última estancia en este hotel, el trato con el personal es excelente, realmente te hacen sentir en casa, por otro lado el hotel se encuentra muy limpio y las comidas son en realidad deliciosas, la playa está siempre atendida. Algo interesante es que el personal mantiene suma atención a los huéspedes y tienen diferentes actividades cada día para que pases un excelente tiempo. La pase increíble espero volver pronto.

Un 10 para todos los trabajadores del hotel sin excepción. Amables, educados, rápidos y profesionales. Mención aparte la gente de entretenimiento, un +10. En cuanto a las instalaciones exteriores y la playa muy bien. La cama super cómoda y las habitaciones muy limpias y cuidadas. Algún detallito de óxido en los grifos que deberían de mantener le quita prestancia, pero en general muy bien. La comida, todo bueno. Hay mucha cantidad de platos pero me resulta un poco repetitivo y en mi opinión deberían innovar todos lados s días con algún plato. Las bebidas y combinados muy buenos. Un todo incluido estupendo!.

Las medidas con el uso de cubrebocas muy relajadas. Los animadores de los peor que me ha tocado; totalmente enfocados en los extranjeros, sin carisma, muy pocas actividades o al menos no fuimos invitados. The bed here is very soft, I can sleep comfortably and wake up the same. The buffet food is really good, from breakfast to dinner. The customer service is also really nice. Nexus travel was very organized and not pushy. The kitchen staff was awesome. We came back just passed closing time from an excursion (so hungry and tired) and they kept the kitchen open and feed us and the kids. Great job overall.

O melhor do hotel sem dúvida que é a praia!Mas..... A esplanada da praia era durante todo o dia invadida por vendedores, tanto de pequenas coisas como de excursões, vendedores estes com vocabulário agressivo e depreciativo para com os clientes que não lhes compravam essas mesmas excursões, o que nos disseram a nós foi: tens que trabalhar mais duro pra ganhares mais dinheiro para vir aqui e me comprares excursões.... Moral de quem nem de trabalhar gostará....E eu não sou obrigada a comprar as excursões com vendedores de praia e ainda menos de aturar vendas agressivas quando estou de férias a relaxar num lugar que já paguei!Check-in com falta de informação.Restaurantes são agradáveis, mas as comidas são muito repetitivas.Não tem elevador, fomos alojados em 3° andar sem elevador, o homem que nos ajudou a levar as malas chegou às escadas e não ajudou mais. Dessa ajuda não precisava....Tive uma excursão um dia às 7h da manhã e não consegui comer rigorosamente nada, a sala de pequeno almoço não abre nem 1 minuto mais cedo, e os snacks existentes num frigorífico que havia num bar, alguns até comidos estavam e novamente embrulhados.Aconselho a abertura para o pequeno almoço às 6.45h, para evitar que não aconteça de futuro a outros clientes o que nos aconteceu a nós.Um dia à 1.30h da manhã alguém num quarto decidiu fazer uma festa e fazer imenso barulho com música, 30 minutos de tortura, em que tive que ligar à receção.A meio da madrugada do dia 27/09 alguém activou o alarme de incêndio, teve todo o edifício de ser evacuado (torre quartos 4000...) e da parte da receção nem uma palavra nos deram sobre essa situação!!Check-out demasiado impessoal, arrancaram-nos a pulseira a "papo-seco", enão quiseram saber mais de nós.Já estive em vários hotéis Riu nunca tive check out assim.Os funcionários eram simpáticos e a animação geral era boa, os miúdos da animação das piscinas eram muito atenciosos.Menina da limpeza do quarto eficaz.Fiz 2 reclamações à receção em que foram bastante eficazes, 1 do barulho e outra de roupas em lugares inapropriados. Edifício é bom a nível geral e com boa arquitectura.Os jardins são muito limpos. Cumpre muito bem as regras sanitárias agora da covid-19, principalmente nos restaurantes e na entrada do hotel, álcool gel predominante em todo o hotel, e medição de temperatura à porta do hotel em máquina automática e nas portas dos restaurantes por 1 funcionária, há dispensadores inclusivamente nos quartos e em todos os WC comuns junto aos dispensadores de sabonete em gel. Quanto ao tema máscaras os funcionários cumprem as regras, os clientes mais ou menos.... Mas isso não depende do hotel, pois se fossem avisar todos teriam que arranjar uma gravação!Ficou a falhar imenso o check out e a situação do alarme de incêndio.Pontuação 3 por ser Riu, se fosse outro daria menos....

All-inclusive drinks means a stocked room fridge and bottles of rum, tequila, gin, and vodka at the mini-bar. The buffet is great and there are also Italian, Asian, Mexican and American steakhouse restaurants. There are two pools, a swim-up bar, and an amazing beach. The water is emerald green and crystal clear. The water is only 6 feet deep until about 250 feet from shore. It is a calm sea and the sand is soft. Playacar beach is an amazing place to stay and this quiet hotel has it all. Good for families.

The room and amenities were basic compared to other resorts but we paid less than other resorts also. The staff were amazing, so kind and helpful. Food was great and I’m picky, we loved the Mexican restaurant and Asian restaurant and breakfast buffet. They definitely need a different option for their late night snack bar, if you plan to need food late night bring your own snacks! The pool bar was fun with hard working staff. Plenty of beach chairs and palm trees. The beach is a little rough this year- need water shoes and it’s kinda dirty from all the seaweed but every beach we saw in Playa del Carmen was like that this year. Great all inclusive budget friendly resort.

Good resort. Don't expect luxury... Food can become repetitive during off-season since not many restaurants are open on the day / food for lunch is always the same. Service at the pool and at the beach was extremely good some days and non-existent other days... This was not consistent and should improve.Room was spacious, though door handle from the bathroom wouldn't work from inside and you'd fear to be locked inside.Entertainment and theatre were top-notch, hence the 4 stars.

Service- the best! Every single one that works there are hard workers. They greet and smile at you every time they see you. They asked me if you need anything and they provide everything for you. Rooms- not perfect, the room is smaller than I thought but hey we got an upgrade so.. Who am I to complain? Food- they have buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They even have bbq and burgers served by the pool and bars. They also have restaurants you can go to which is also part of the all inclusive. Spa- I didn’t use it but I thought the prices are too expensive. Pool- very spacious. They have a lot of activities there too like dancing in the water and volleyball. Beach- gorgeous! If you want to hangout there at night, they actually allow it. Bar- you can drink as much as you can. Overall- it’s a great experience. Will definitely come back.

Todo estuvo muy bienLa atención, la comida, lo único que es sumamente desagradable son los vendedores de puros( Droga como Marihuana y Cocaína ) qué están en el área de camastros y tambien te piden que les des bebidas alcohólicas , lo malo es que algunos huéspedes si lo hacen. Por lo que el Servicio de Seguridad del hotel deja mucho que desear.

Les contaré que el hotel tiene una atención amable desde la recepción. Limpieza en las habitaciones y áreas comunes. Tiene servicio de WiFi en todo el perímetro del hotel. Está muy cerca del centro playa del Carmen. En mi estancia que fue el 7 de septiembre 2020; los restaurantes no estaban abiertos en su totalidad, sin embargo la comida de los tres abiertos era muy rica. Les recomiendo ampliamente el mexicano y asiático.La playa es hermosa y los coaties muy bonitos.

Ayer 29 septiembre 2020salimos de nuestro cuarto a cenar al regresar subimos a las 12:00 am, los cuartos estaban abiertos y nos robaron dinero, (y si nos robaron dinero no soy el primero ni el último en este hotel ahí varios reviews de los mismo) en la reception nos dijieron que no tienen cámaras y que no pueden hacer nada y que el gerente no estaba jamás en mi vida vuelvo a venir a este hotel, tengo el vídeo cuando hablamos con reception esperen verlo en Tripadvisor, Google search etc no recomiendo este hotel le diré a todos mis amigos en Texas que no vengan nunca, a mis amigos a Guadalajara, Monterrey y df lo mismo, asco total, ojo venden drogas en la playa siempre lo e sabido y no me causa molestia, lo molesto es que vas bajando las escaleras y te acosan con todo y tú familia, un tipo ofreciendome cocaína y marihuana llevaba de la mano a mí Nina de dos años me acosaron todo el día hasta que decidimos no volver mejor a la playa, muy mala experiencia estoy muy molesto en mi vida me había pasado así en Cancún o playa del Carmen.

No regresaría. La atención del personal que me atendió en la recepción al llegar fue grosera, lo cual me incomodó mucho, pero lo pasé por alto. El personal en los restaurantes, barras y los animadores, todos excelentes. Sin embargo se perdió la cartera de mi acompañante el día del checkout con mucho $$y resulta que no pudieron hacer nada porque el Hotel ni siquiera cuenta con cámaras de seguridad en pasillos o en el lobby, solo con 1 en recepción. Y el personal no tiene al parecer la obligación de reportar objetos extraviados. Lo cual se me hace súper inseguro.Las habitaciones son pequeñas, pero cuentan con lo necesario, lo único fue que me dió toques el control del aire acondicionado.

1. La luz de mi habitación hizo corto y a media noche tuve que irme a dormir a otro cuarto ya con niños dormidos, la habitación a la que nos movieron no era de la misma capacidad, entonces unos se quedaron a dormir en el cuarto sin luz y sin aire porque no cabíamos todos en la otra2. Increíble que ningún bar tenga una pantalla, debería haber algún punto tipo sports bar3. El vino y la cerveza que ofrecen es malo4. El check in muy tarde y el check out súper temprano, pierdes prácticamente los dos dias, el que llegas y el que te vas5. No hay snacks sin meterte a un restaurante formalmente a comer6. Mi llave de habitación se des programó tres o cuatro veces y tuve que caminar hasta el lobby7. No hay elevador, son tres pisos, pero he ido a hoteles muchísimo más chicos y aún con tres pisos tienen elevador, yo iba con una persona que no podía subir escaleras y fue un pelear que nos ubicaran en planta baja8. Las camas no son cómodas9. Las habitaciones no tienen nada de privacidad para cambiarte sin que todo el cuarto te vea10. Una amistad me fue a visitar porque fue mi cumpleaños y la sacaron, por más que quisimos pagar su estancia o lo que se necesitara para que la dejaran estar un momento, me parecieron bastante cerrados al respecto, se quería pagar por su visita, pero no fue posible11. Los horarios de la cena muy temprano, a las 9 cerraban, diario teníamos que correr para alcanzar, aunque la comida en los restaurantes, es bastante buena, muy basta y mucha variedad.

All employees are amazing, very nice, friendly, and helpful.Room service is great, they were calling every night to check that everything is ok.Restaurants service is great.Breakfast buffet crew is wonderful (Christina and Willi).Pool bar service is outstanding (Myra), drinks were available in a timely manner.Pool activities are so fun (Fernando), he is so active and was always inviting everybody for the activities kindly and friendly.Sanitizers everywhere, everybody was wearing masks at all times, and temperature was taken before entering any of the restaurants.

This was my first time staying at a Riu resort & my husbands first time in Cancun. We were supposed to stay at Riu Lupita, but because of closures, we got moved here & man, was I glad!!It was our honeymoon trip & the room that we got was amazing, right in front of the pools with the beach in the distance! Me and my husband were so pleased with the food that they offered! Especially the italian restaurant! It exceeded our expectations and so much more! I also enjoyed the unlimited pina coladas and strawberry daquiris! The beach access is so close & is quite nice, despite some seaweed!One of the nights, we decided to do a romantic dinner on the beach, and Eduardo (our server for the night) was so kind & humorous & even remembered us the following days after this dinner! Staff was very friendly and accommodating & they were really good about Covid guidelines! We felt safe the entire trip & it was just so amazing!The only downside about the rooms is the walls are a little thin, so we heard lots of snoring at night, but hey, thats normal!I would definitely come back here!!

Do not go to this hotel.over 1k was stolen from our room.It was from a staff member.The hotel accepted that it was a staff member but did nothing.People are desperate right now during COVID.Do not stay at this hotel.There will be people rummaging through your room and taking anything of value and the hotel will do nothing.Rooms are also not as advertised.More like a 2 star hotel

Whatever you do stay away from this hotel there are a ton of nicer hotels in Playacar. First off the rooms are not as nice as shown on websites and when we got there they put us in wrong room with no amenities and when we spoke to them about it they pretty much didn't care at all. The biggest thing was the safety of the resort. We had over 1K stolen from our room between cash and personal property. We went and told the staff about it and they said they don't have security cameras but they would check the keycard scanner with the information we provided. We found out the following day that a staff member who was in our room during the day took our card and came back at 11:30pm at night. We even told them we knew who it was because a maintenance man came that day and fixed the TV issue we had and then the following morning another maintenance man knocked on our door and said he was there to fix the TV with no information that it was already fixed. Thank god we weren't in the room sleeping that night or we could have been in extreme danger! The hotel accepted that it was a staff member but told us to contact complaints@riu.com which when we reached out to them they said the hotel told them nothing happened there was no forced break in so can't do anything. Of course there wasn't a forced break in a staff member took our keycard! Also the hotel lied to the complaint department because the manager of the hotel highlighted when the person entered our room when we were out. Do not stay at this hotel at all as there are so many better options in Playacar. There will be people rummaging through your room and taking anything nice and the hotel will tell you that you signed an agreement that doesn't protect from cases like this. Stay away!

Todo en el hotel es excelente, pero recomiendo a los huéspedes no dejar abiertas las puertas de sus balcones cuando salen. Alguien entró a mi habitación cuando fuimos a cenar, y se llevó un cargador de celular y un cable USB.Hice la denuncia en recepción para dejar constancia ,no puedo hacer reclamo pues fue mi culpa dejar abierto,y el hotel no tiene cámaras en el exterior.

No sólo el hotel es muy lindo y con una salida a la playa muy cómoda y nada lejos de cualquier habitación, sino que también se destaca en cuanto a la amabilidad del personal y la calidad de la comida. La animación tanto diurna como nocturna es espectacular. Los shows de la noche van variando en temática y te dejan con ganas de más.En mi opinión el excelente trato es lo que más resalta. Volveremos.

No catalogo este hotel como cinco estrellas. Las habitaciones son 3.5 estrellas, la alimentación es 4 estrellas, el buffet es bueno y el restaurante de carnes está bien pero los otros restaurantes están regulares; y el servicio, no fue excelente. No está mal el hotel pero no lo considero cinco estrellas. No tiene camastros, la animación fue buena la días que estuvimos y fue variada. Tuve el error de tomar una noche adicional durante la estadía y me bloquearon la puerta de acceso a la habitación, aún cuando tenían una tarjeta de crédito de respaldo, perdí mucho tiempo entre la central de reservas, recepción y el servicio de transporte que tuvo el hotel durante mi estadía.

Fantastic beach, great food, well maintained resort. All personnel, from grounds maintenance to entertainment coordinators were extremely friendly. Good variety of food options, from a-la-carte to buffet. Convenient location - can easily walk to neighboring Playa del Carmen. Not up for the walk? Check out the shops / market right in front of the resort - pricing on some items was better here than in Playa del Carmen.

A lot of 5 stars out there, the best I can give it is 2. Like many of the reviews most of the food was great, and the service amazing.The food in the Mexican restaurant was awful The buffet was great, something for everyone.We did not have any kind of view of the ocean, which was disappointing for us. The rooms were nice, and clean.However, if you walk out of the shower you are in the middle of the room. The toilet is separate with a door but it wastoo small for anyone to change clothes if you needed privacy. Also there is a bathtub in the middle of the room, next to the bed. One of the main reasons I would not go back is that there is no place to just sit and relax. All of the pools have loud music playing all the time and because it was an all inclusive, a lot of very loud drunk people everywhere. Finally the beach was okay, more of the same, but the most offensive part of that was the people on the beach trying to sell you things, disguised mostly as pot sellers. They hang around all day, everyday, sitting in the shaded chairs and the wait staff bring them drinks, as if they were paying customers.We brought it to the attention of the management but they just turn a blind eye.

RIU cadena de hoteles espectaculares, me encantó todo de RIU PLAYACAR, muy buena ubicación del hotel, hermoso lugar, instalaciones divinas, personal altamente capacitado y muy buena atención por parte de todos, instalaciones impecables y muy limpias, habitaciones grandes y cómodas excelente calidad y variedad de comida, amplia variedad de menú para todos los gustos y muy buen servicio de entretenimiento y espectáculos. Sinceramente mi experiencia fue perfecta. Totalmente recomendable.No es un hotel barato pero vale la pena pagar cada peso de estadía en el hotel.

Hermoso hotel all inclusive.Solo deberian tener en cuenta los pisos que llevan hacia las habotaciones. La gente resbala permanentemente y es un lugar dónde el clima varía hora a hora. En momentos de lluvia las caídas son constantes.Por favor, solucionen ésa cuestión.

If you choose to stay at Riu Tequila, Riu Playacar or Riu Yucatan expect to have a wonderful holiday. Whichever hotel you choose you have access to the other two so you can't go wrong! There are a few diffences between them.Riu Tequila is set back from the beach but there is a shuttle buggy that takes you too and from the beach. The walk is less than 5 minutes. It has large pools and a great kids pool. This is definitely the more party hotel with themed nights every Friday, a late night club that anyone from all 3 hotels can use and a sports bar with multiscreens, pool and fussbal.Playacar has the most modern layout of any of the hotels. Two large pools and a fantastic infinity pool bar that has sun on it all day. It leads straight on to the beach. This was our favourite place for lunch. The seafood was excellent. It is the least busy of the three I'd say and has a relaxing feel alongside great entertainment! Including watching the chef carve an ice sculpture or turn a watermelon into a flower.Yucatan has the most jungle in the grounds which is home to wild howler monkeys. There are all sorts of animals roaming all the hotels but we loved seeing the baby monkeys at Yucatan. There are two lovely pools, a pool bar in one area that leads onto the beach. There's also a seperate pool and bar in a chill area that has hammocks and beds with mattresses. The Theatre is by the main pools whereas the other two have the theater connected to the lobby. It means there is an outside bar at night which is lovely.Every hotel provides you with entertainment all day long. It really is excellent and gets everyone involved (unless you don't want to).The food is exquisite in our opinion. There was so much choice every day at the buffet! I love seafood and this place blew my mind. Lobster, crab, prawns, mussels, Sashimi, sushi and more. A real treat. My partner doesn't like fish at all but he always had an excellent meal too with steak on everday, ham, pork, chicken, turkey and of course mexican! There's also always pizza, burgers, chips pasta etc. On top of this you can use the sit in restaurants including Mexican, Steak and Asian. Excellent friendly staff through the restaurants. We liked the touch of having hand sanitiser in and out of the restaurant and all over the hotel.Drinks were amazing! So much choice. Any cocktail you can think of essentialy. Some local some imported spirits. Made excellently by proffesional friendly staff every time. Tip though bring a reusable straw as Riu have stopped using them across all hotels.Room was lovely and always cleaned to an exceptional standard. All the cleaning staff were very friendly too.Reception staff were always very helpful and accommodating.There is good WiFi coverage throughout the hotel including the beach.Mexico is beautiful and we recommend you go on excursions. Just don't bother buying biodegradable lotion or bug spray for swimming with animals or in the cenote as they make you shower before you get in regardless.The weather was gorgeous! Bring plenty of lotion and good tropical insect repellent. Both are hugely expensive here. It was 28c in the shade most days if you found a sun trap I reckon it was late 30c. Our forecast said 6 days of rain when we got there. In two weeks there were two 30min isolated down pours.Playa del carmen is 30/40mins walk from the hotel. Its hot to walk though! We paid $120 pesos from the far side of town back to our hotel. Or we got a taxi for $60-80 pesos to the edge of playacar and just walked in.Playacar is a beautiful, historic gated community. You feel so safe here it is bliss.This holiday is highly recommended by us!! Thank you to everyone at Riu for a wonderful time.

Realmente es hermoso. Es cinco estrellas en todo aspecto. Mejoraría un poco la calidad de los shows. Los grupos de danza que contratan parecerían no ser de escuelas se baile a la altura de un hotel all inclusive. Demasiadas fallas en los bailes, estuvimos una semana y nos hubo show mexicano. Nada que ver con otros Riu, durante el día entretenimiento medio. Los días se lluvia nos re aburrimos. El resto diez puntos.

My favorite thing about this place is the delicious food. You serve yourself at their Buffett (they have one for breakfast, lunch and dinner) and as you walk away you notice you totally missed the food on the other side . The variety is crazy making 🤪 too much good stuff.You will also find a mini fridge in your room stocked with various drinks and alcohol dispensers above the fridge . These are restocked every two days. The staff is so friendly and so attentive , everything is so clean. The beach is beautiful (that’s why most of us come here for , right ?)A tip for visitors , when buying souvenirs outside of the resort , don’t settle for the first price they give you . They know you’re visiting and will try charging you more for things so offer them less and you’ll save some money .

RIU Playacar is middle of road ... rooms are very plain ... food is ok ... drinks are cheap alchohol and could be better.Service is exceptional, staff exceptional, manager not so friendly however.RIU Tequila across the street had the best entertainment and entry there is included for RIU Playacar.

Do not book this hotel. The hotel is not 5, 4, or even 3-star quality. I’m not sure why they are rated highly, but I know you can stay at a much better property in the area for the same cost. The drinks are made with the cheapest liquor possible and taste cheap, even if you offer to pay for better quality, they say they don’t have it. The buffet is disappointing, they pre-cook omelets, poached or fried eggs and leave them under a lamp for guests to grab, if you ask for a fresh one because the eggs are overcooked, they tell you they can’t.There is no room service, but they offer a “24hr” snack area...they had old burgers that you can put in a microwave, stale/hard sandwiches, the reception told us it was frozen food so it could last days. The rooms are low quality, sheets are rough, there’s no elevators, which I don’t mind, but not suitable for everyone. I definitely believe the website and the reviews are deceiving...it is a horrible hotel.

My boyfriend and I just got back from a 7 day stay here. The resort is beautifully kept, the staff are so kind and attentive (props to Nestor, William, Froy & Adrian) and the food was great! I’m a vegetarian and found they still had a lot of options at the buffet and the Italian and Asian a la carte restaurants. While the Mexican restaurant didn’t have as many veg options, the tortilla soup rocked my world. Bonus: You don’t have to make reservations at the a la carte restaurants, which took away some stress as for booking reso’s and making it to dinner on time. There are activities going on all day if you choose to participate (I.e. foam party, ping pong, yoga, dance parties on the beach). I’d definitely say it’s better for families, couples, and people who aren’t set on partying every night as there is no disco. Certain nights of the weeks the shows and entertainment are conducive to this though, so if that’s all you’re looking for then I still think it would be a good fit! Some of the night entertainment was better than others (the White Party & the Men vs. Women show were our faves). The entertainment staff are all awesome. Lots of beach volleyball going on, never had a problem finding a spot on the beach no matter the time of day, and the water itself is fairly well kept of seaweed. Oh, it’s also situated within a gated community in proximity to other resorts (many of which you have access to) so you feel quite safe. Overall an awesome experience!

Just arrived back unfortunately! A fantastic place to stay, not too big. All the staff were friendly and helpful, Mariella our room maid was lovely and Froy and Alberto from the 24 hourbar were amazing, really good fun and looked after us well. The all inclusive food is what it is, the Italian was ok but the Asian restaurant and the Steak restaurant were really good. There is plenty to do around about, you can also use the other local Rius for entertainment as not as lively there. Got a taxi into Playa Del Carmen, lovely town to have a wander, we also caught a ferry from there to Cozumel ourselves instead of paying to go on a trip, they are quite expensive, beautiful little island andif you want a tour of it you can hire a buggy or taxi over there. The wildlife is really nice, pelicans flying over the beach, we went to the Yucatan hotel and saw Howler monkeys living wild there, iguanas and the Coati, a Mexican raccoon. All in all a fantastic place for a holiday. Can't wait to go back again.

Hay animación, pero no es excesiva. De noche, si se quiere un mejor show o disco, se debe ir al Riu Tequila. Solo mejoraría la disponibilidad de comida después de las 22. Muy cómodo que no hay que reservar para ir a los restaurantes

Es la segunda vez que elijo esta cadena de hotelería, y en particular este hotel, buen servicio, amabilidad y limpieza. El personal siempre bien predispuesto en cualquier tipo de consulta o duda. Lo único que tendría que mejorar es la parte de animación tanto los espectáculos de noche como en la playa. Hace 5 años que fui la primera vez y era digno de quedarse a ver los espectáculos. Esta vez era como que faltaba ese espíritu de entretenimiento y animación.Por eso 4 estrellas

Personnel was very nice. Food was excellent. It was inconvenient that we couldn't take drinks from the other Riu hotels along the beach, so we had to take drinks with us to walk along the beach. The cleaning stuff rearranged my things during cleaning all the time, once they threw out the plastic bag I needed; don't really like people fumble with my things without knowing their purpose.

There 24 hr food options are gross in my opinion..it has a fridge with pre made hot dogs ... wraps ...cream cheese and salmonsandwich... it would make more sense you just make hot dogs and hamburgers on a grill as people came all night especially being a 5-star I've been to a few others that were same star or lower and they had some better options for the 24 hour food

We had a wonderful 11 nites stay here in September 2019 . Everything from ur rooms to food & drinks and most of all the staff were absolutely fantastic, I cannot praise them enough . The entertainment staff , Claudia at water gym and Ceasor with games and all the others so many to name were lovely and made me smile every day with there conversations and ability to entertain people , they were brilliant. Really enjoyed the steakhouse & Asian restaurants . The choice in the main buffet restaurant was great as well , so much choice . Last but not least the staff on the pool bar deserve a medal , they work so hard and we had plenty fun there on our visit . We will definitely be back .

This hotel is smaller and quieter of the Riu hotels in the area. This hotel is slightly out of the way from the shops and restaurants but is only a short taxi ride to 5th Avenue.The hotel is clean and tidy and the staff are brilliant. There is plenty of food choices with different specials every day. The swimming pool was quiet and there was activities every day but didn't last long. I would of given it a 5 star but the beach was closed and we share with another hotel. Would definitely recommend.

Es uno de los mejores hoteles en el que he estado, la ubicación, instalaciones y servicio 10/10, me trataron de maravilla al grado que volvería a repetir mis vacaciones constantemente . El precio ni se diga, es una excelente opción y hay para cada bolsillo, eso no quiere decir que cambie el servicio, siempre muy atentos y con la mejor actitud todo el personal. Incluso tienes entrada a dos hoteles más y disfrutar de sus restaurantes y e instalaciones. La comida y bebida es un punto fuerte, lo que consumes te hace ver que es más barato que si te hospedas en un hotel que no ofrece el todo incluido.

Hotel moderno con todas las comodidades. Habitaciones de diseño con espacioso baño. La comida del buffet y de los restaurantes (destacando a la carta el italiano). Me hospedé en este hotel dos veces: diciembre 2018 y marzo 2019. Es mi cuarta vez que me hospedo en un Riu. En particular el hotel es excelente. Su personal, su estructura, la comida, el staff de entretenimiento, no hay nada malo para decir. Las habitaciones son amplias y limpias. Tiene caja de seguridad. Cuenta con estacionamiento y el hotel tiene salida al mar. Se encuentra a 3km de Playa del Carmen. Wifi funciona muy bien. Diez sobre diez. Recomendable para familias.

Bonito hotel familiar, a 5 minutos de la 5ta avenida. Si lo eligen, tomen el paquete todo incluido (bebidas y alimentos). Cuentan con atracciones casi todas la noches, eventos de playa e incluso pool party un día a la semana.
Tiene una playa ENORME, aunque hay que tener en cuenta que si visitan el lugar en temporada de sargazo, la playa es prácticamente imposible de nadar en ella.
Poco turismo nacional, el 80% de las personas que lo visitan son, en su mayoría, familias sudamericanas. Las habitaciones son muy aceptables, elúnico pero es que muy pocas son las que tienen vista al mar.
La atención es buena, el personal es muy amable. Cuentan con 5 restaurantes todos ellos con buena calidad en sus alimentos, a excepción de sus vinos... Sus vinos son MALISIMOS.
Lo visitaría de nueva cuenta, definitivamente.

Gran hotel y resort. Todo lo que puedas esperar está dentro del recinto. Buen gusto para ser decorado. Tiene restaurante italiano y japones, además de otros dos espacios de buffet internacional donde elegir casa día. Además tiene bar 24 horas. Durante el día hay muchas actividades programadas y espectáculos todas las noches. Posee 3 piscinas a orillas de la playa donde hay bbq todos los días.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff was delightful. I had heard of a growth in the ocean waters keeping people from doing some water excursions and making the water brown. But when I got there the water was a beautiful turquoise color that was stunning. The food was delicious and first class, presentation lovely. This is an all inclusive resort but I suggest tipping extra as the staff is phenomenal and try very hard to make your stay dreamy.

Great Resort I would recommend this resort and will return. The customer service and staff were AMAZING! The property is smaller but this was part of it's charm. The food was good, you couldwalk into any of the alacart restaurant with out reservations which was nice. The room were clean, my only complaintis the shower and washroom area need more privacy. The beach was fantastic, white sand lots of beach chairs available and the staff worked hard at cleaning the beach of weeds every morning. The resort entertainment was good. I will return some day.

Overall it was a good hotel. The staff is really nice and everyone was helpful. The amenities are alright. They have a good fun team that organizes things at night.The beach was full of seaweed everyday; you had to cross a barrier of them to get to a spot in the water with no seaweed. I understand that it's not their fault but they can at least make an effort to clean it.The food was average. Nothing that impressed us but it was all ok. We didn't get/see any authentic Mexican food in there which was a little disappointing.Location wise, it is close to the shopping area and "downtown". Walking is great and cabs are always available which is really nice. It is also across the street from a small market/mall place which is really convinet in case you need a pharmacy or forgot something (or want a quick souvenir and don't want to go shopping)

I was here almost a month ago and it was my first experience in Mexico. By far the best experience of my life. Everyone was so welcoming. I felt so taken care of and safe. And there was always something going on for when we wanted to spend our days at the hotel. The food was also incredible. Being back home I can't even look at a buffet the same. I 100% will be back. Thank you for a time to remember!

Great pools, service, and beach access. We never left the resort because we didn’t have to! Great gourmet dining, and lots and lots of fun activities for the kids. Javier did an amazing job at riuland with Christmas celebrations for the kids, my kid is still talking about it!! The only drawback was that the pools were all outdoors and not heated, but we should’ve checked that before booking. Ocean water was much warmer.

First time in Riviera Maya and really liked it a lot. This resort was nice seemed cleaned and well taken care of. FYI they do NOT have an ELEVATOR. Wasn’t a huge deal to me, other then sweating a lot running up and down 3 flights of steps, but wasn’t well advertised when making the reservation. So if you would have trouble with steps request a main floor room. Otherwise they do have handicap accommodations. Although I think you do have to travel steps to get on the beachOur room was an ocean view which was nice but more like pool view cause you are looking over the pool and through some trees to see the water but it was a nice view either way. This was our first All inclusive and it was ok. I like to drink quality over quantity the mini bar was lame. Bottom shelf stuff with no variety of mixers to make a decent drink with. The bars were better at making some awesome drinks but again the alcohol was not the greatest quality but it’ll do. The resort had multiple restaurants and bars that rotate which is open throughout the day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner kinda tricky figuring out where to go when. But the do give you a schedule when you check in. The food was actually good. I enjoyed the variety and different options available. I was surprised at how good it was actually.The staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Some hard to understand even at the front desk but otherwise able to figure things out.

I really enjoyed my stay we stayed for 6 days. The staff was friendly as well besides at the beach they were pretty rude. Our safe and fridge weren’t working In the room and they came right up to fix it within 25 minutes. I was also highly impressed by them calling the next day to make sure that our items were working and to check if their was anything else we needed. The food is very good and the staff gets to know you’re habits on how you like your meals or milk in your coffee. The drinks were good and the bartenders were very attentive. The only compliant I have is the pool with the bar kids are allowed so their is a lot of splashing and kicking while having your drinks. Their are two other pools and the beach so it would be nice for them to not be allowed in the bar pool. The rooms were clean and very cool no issues with bugs or flies. The bar in the room is excellent and they even give you your own large bottles. Overall great stay I wanna I’ll be coming back

All Riu hotels as far as I am concerned are good value. This one I liked particularly due to their stage set up and bar. Excellentstaff and great service. We were in the Riu Mexico Palace next door and we visited the Playacar. Although the Palace is fantastic we enjoyed our two or threeevenings at the Playacar. Cannot comment on the food as we did not eat there but if the experience we had at the Playacar was anything to go by it must be on par.

Definitely not a 5 star hotel. Good 4 star. Food is ok. Pool entertainment not the greatest. Pool bars lack knowledge of drinks but still not bad. Beach sports are fun. Beach is good as the people are on top of it to keep the beach clean from the seaweed. Props to Karen who helped us and got us a pool/beach front room. Overall it's a nice place

My sister had been to several Riu hotels in different countries and she has always left with a good impression, so I decided to come to this location in Playa del Carmen and I’m glad I did. I had a great experience. The food was amazing, the service was beyond excellent, and the resort its beautiful. Also, in case you haven’t been to Playacar, it’s very safe there! Only the tourists that are staying in this location and the employees are allowed in, so if security is a concern for you, this place will be perfect. The location has many gift shops around with reasonable prices, and even a mall. Totally recommend it!!!!! You won’t regret it.

4 3/4 Stars!This was the first time my wife and I took our children on a Caribbean vacation.I was completely impressed and would go back to Riu Playacar in a second.First thing I noticed was how clean the place was.The staff worked day and night to keep up on the cleanliness and it showed.The food and entertainment was amazing!Valentino was a pure professional planning and executing the entertainment dayand night!The staff would go out of their way to make sure we were having the most incredible vacation and they were spot on.The only reason I don't give this review a 5 star at this time is really no fault of the Hotel, but I though I'd mention it here for others to see.From what I understand the whole Yucatan Peninsula, as well as the rest of the Caribbean, is dealing with a major seaweed issue.Well we had seaweed at our beach the whole week.It was about 100 yards wide, and if we swam past it, the water was turquoise blue, but it was somewhat disheartening when we first saw it and it stayed with us the entire week.We booked an excursion to Cozumel Island to get the clear blue waters and to snorkel, and it was awesome, I was hoping to have that right on our beach.Otherwise, I was over pleased with our first visit to Mexico and the Hotel Riu Playacar.

Great hotel very close to the beach, very friendly staff, great entertainment especially the white party on a Friday night at the nearby riu tequilla. Believe you can use some of facilities at riu tequilla, yucatan and lupita which is great if you fancy a change of surroundings. Nice compact gym and 3 pools including a swim up bar in one. Would definitely go back. Beach is well maintained with regular cleaning of seaweed and there's lots of sun loungers. Only gripes the shower area is open plan and the towels are bit too hard, vegetarian food options are limited but you can see past that.

⚠⚠♿♿ DISCRIMINATION ALERT : THIS HOTEL DISCRIMINATES AND IS NOT SENSITIVE AT ALL TO PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS ⚠⚠♿♿Since the very moment I made my booking, I requested an accessible room because I was traveling with my uncle, who is in a wheelchair and has mobility problems.I called few days in advance to make sure they saw my request and, to my surprise, they said they received it; however, they could not assign me an accessible room, but one on a 3rd floor with no elevator (4 star chain hotel with no elevator, really??!!)Reception staff and the supervisor were super rude and they said they can not have an accessible room for me, even when I was willing to pay a higher rate at that very moment. The worst was when they implied that if I did not want that room, I just just go somewhere else, they literally said "there is nothing we can do".I can not believe a 4 star chain hotel has such rude and uneducated staff, non-incluse mentality, poor reservation system, lack of flexibility, mediocre customer service and specially, zero sensitivity to elders or people with special needs.This is nothing but a case of discrimination.

A great place to stay if you are visiting Playa Del Carmen. What makes it best is it's location and level of customer service. Only 1 hour away from Cancun and right on the beach it has its own beach and many events tbat you keep entertained during stay. Rooms are really good with a mini fridge and your basic needs. Your own balcony and a very good shower facility. Two pools right before the beach. You can enjoy jet ski and other activities at the beach. No need to go anywhere else.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel. Right on the beach. Beautiful pool bar and plenty of loungers to lay on. Outstanding staff and lovely food. Lots of different choices of food. The rooms are beautiful very spacious and very clean. Rooms are cleaned everyday. All the staff are very polite and always make sure you have everything you need. Reception staff are very helpful also. I had to print some tickets off for some trips and I spoke to reception who happily gone it for us. They also have lots of activities for both adults and children from the time you wake up until the time you go to bed. The riu fun staff always get you involved and are very friendly. I will definitely be visiting this hotel again in the future. The evening entertainment is brilliant also. I highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel riu playacar is a very nice retreat. Choice of 3 swimming pools. The sea right next to hotel. Sea was warmer than pools. Rooms very clean and tidy. Restraunts were.ok. 2 weeks and food does get repetitive. Al a carte are more self service. Asian food never felt hot enough. Staff friendly. Entertainment average but did have something every night.

Just like the other Cancun Riu's, this is just a beautiful complex. Many pools and gigantic beach. All day games and fit. Loved the everyday small parties they have! Very good restaurants and nice buffet, little crowded but other than that perfect. People from Riu Lupita go to this beach because their own beach in under construction. Clean place with modern look.

Excelente relación calidad-precio. El hotel es muy lindo en cuanto a infraestructura, la comida excelente y el servicio muy bueno! Cómo cosas a mejorar: es un hotel familiar y van muchos bebés,pero no es accesible ir con los coches a la playa,ya que desde las piscinas hay escaleras para llegar a la playa, debería existir una rampa y también un caminito que haga más fácil el traslado del coche en la arena...esto es más importante para gente con discapacidad que se encuentra en sillas de ruedas y tampoco pueden bajar a la playa de manera fácil,la accesibilidad es muy importante y es algo que en este lugar para acceder a la playa no lo tiene y lo considero un falla importante.

Doesn't deserve 5 stars...looks like 2 but paying like 5. We stayed wirh 2 little kids. People staff are nice and gentil but the infrastructure is old fashion, looks like and 70's, closets smells bad, the AC leaks water... Whe people from the suite above us take a shower it sounds like a motor at the room... I hate it, sorry.Pools are standard, and we had algaes at the sea... 😟I don't have issues it a 2 stars hotel but don't sell it as a five stars...and don't charge me as well.We are not used to people smoking and here all places its allowed to smoke... there are people drunked everywere too.I'll never back here and i don't recommend it.

A fantastic All-Inclusive! We chose this hotel to stay with our family and friends during our wedding week, and it was perfect! The service was amazing, we got a great room facing the ocean, and were welcomed with strawberries and champagne! But that wasn't all! The service at the bar was fantastic and drinks were tasty! And I am very picky about food, but always found something to eat and really enjoyed the themed restaurants!!The beach was beautiful, the location is perfect, we really loved everything! We had about 40 rooms booked and everyone enjoyed their time at the hotel! They all want to return next year!

Food nice and plentiful. 4 themed restaurants and a buffet style.Rooms nice and cool with the aircon and ceiling fan.Swimming pools where quite warm in water temperature so you didn't feel like you were cooling off from the intense sun,but as the hotel is in the beach it was nice to walking the Caribbean sea.All in all a nice pleasant stay. We left at 655 no breakfast flight delayed landed in Toronto around 530. Plane was delayed a few hours. Now it was out of there control but nothing was offered to us the whole day.

Exelente lugar!!! Comida de lujo! Pondría un pero para cuando hice check in con un señor Fernando pero después cambio su actitud y todo de lujo! Hotel limpio y atentos con sus clientes la verdad me quedo muy satisfecho y con muchas ganas de regresar ahí.

Excelente servicio y gran calidad en las habitaciones, alimentos y bebidas. La mejor opción par descansar sin preocupaciones. Playa privada, albercas y alberca bar. 5 restaurantes y en total 5 bares. Y un excelente equipo de animación para organizar actividades y mantener entretenidos a los huéspedes.

Lindo hotel. Tiene lo necesito para pasar una cómoda estadía. Variada comida y bebida. Habitaciones cómodas. El hotel en sí mismo me da la sensación q es uno de los primeros Riu de la zona. Pero está bien. El mar precioso. Playacar es una buena opción. La atención del personal bien. Recomendable. Hay wiffi libre en todo el hotel.
